Expanding to an article

Inaccurate Statement About Soldiers' Comments
editThe second half of this sentence is quite inaccurate: "Whereas Restrepo showed the "high" of combat, Korengal expresses more bitterness with one soldier saying "You did what you had to do."[4]" However, this soldier's comments in the film are explicitly the opposite of saying "You did what you had to do." Simply looking at the cited source will tell you: "One disillusioned soldier delivers an angry rebuttal to a common response to his post-combat anguish: “You did what you had to do.” In fact, he says, he had a choice; he didn’t have to serve in Afghanistan."
- we can't go by your opinion, just what is in reliable sources. --I am One of Many (talk) 19:14, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- It's not my opinion, I must reiterate what the source says: "One disillusioned soldier delivers an angry rebuttal to a common response to his post-combat anguish: “You did what you had to do.” In fact, he says, he had a choice; he didn’t have to serve in Afghanistan." - In other words... the common response to his post-combat anguish (by other people) is them saying "you did what you had to do." His angry rebuttal (to those words) was then that "he says, he had a choice; he didn’t have to serve in Afghanistan." That's what's so inaccurate about this article: It is attributing to the solider the very thing he was delivering the angry rebuttal about. Without the context of having seen the movie you might miss the nuance of that sentence. 2604:2000:81A4:5A00:8072:F4DD:CE1C:DDC1 (talk) 00:33, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Stephen M
- Ok, I do believe I misunderstood point there. Thanks for clearing it up. --I am One of Many (talk) 07:47, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
