According to Court Orders, the arrest of Kovam is contempt. I urge good consituitional advocates to look into the issue. The courts reiterate that power to arrest must be used by the magisterial officer judiciously. Power to arrest doesn't mean there is necessity to arrest. People could be left off with warnings. Police according to such orders must look into the necessity of arrest and use powers judiciously. In case the state is using law to torment, people are entitled to fines, penalties and anticipatory warrant. Failing to do which, there should be representations for failure of constituitional machinery (in this case contempt of court) and police working for a single political party.
