- fucK is not an abbreviation for the enzyme itself; it is actually the name for the gene that encodes this enzyme. These names tend to be 4 letters/numbers and they have to be related to the protein they code for, that's why the name ended up being fucK. I have edited the article to reflect this and have provided a source for this information. Abc30 (talk) 14:39, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
