Ladakh protests → Ladakh statehood protests – The current title is too broad. The protest is particularly for demands of statehood and Six Schedule inclusion. - Oppose The protests were originally for "constitutional safeguards" under the Sixth Schedule and they have suddenly started adding a demand for statehood recently. It is hard to say how serious the demand is but they are unlikely to get it, given the small size of Ladakh (roughly quarter million population). Recent analysis by the Indian Express discusses Sixth Schedule, but practically nothing about statehood. It also doesn't make sense to demand statehood and Sixth Schedule, because statehood would make the Sixth Schedule redundant. The whole situation is very confused. In any case, I find it wrong to mention "statehood" upfront in the title. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:50, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose There are multiple demands of which statehood is one. The more contentious (and arguably one which the protesters have been pressing for with more intensity) is the Sixth Schedule, not statehood. 'Ladakh Protests' alone is sufficient. UnpetitproleX (talk) 01:04, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
