Kitty SpencerLady Kitty Spencer – As the daughter of a British earl, she is entitled to the style of "Lady" just like her paternal aunt Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and daughters of other British earls such as Lady Sarah Chatto, Lady Louise Windsor, etc. Keivan.fTalk 02:59, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Willthacheerleader18 thank you for editing this page. I tried doing the same thing you did, but my source was deemed insufficient even though I cited other that said her legal name is Kitty Eleanor Spencer. Dashellsaint (talk) 02:13, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Different reliable sources list different things. For instance, The Independent refers to her birth name as Katherine Eleanor,[1] while Forbes states both that her full name is Katherine, and her surname has been changed after her marriage.[2] However, HuffPost and Marie Claire have both listed "Kitty Eleanor Spencer" as her birth names.[3][4]
@Bettydaisies: Thanks for bringing it up. Since sources differ, the best thing to do is to include both alternatives in a footnote in the lead, which I already have done using the sources you provided. Keivan.fTalk 01:58, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Keivan.f: Fantastic idea. Thanks for taking care of that conundrum.--Bettydaisies (talk) 04:17, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
