Move or merge?

edit

At present (and since its creation in 2013), the content of this article is entirely about landlord-tenant law in Tamil Nadu. (The article promises to say something about Pondicherry but doesn't.) But "jural relationship" is a much more general term. For example, as the Supreme Court of India said in 1963, "'Nationality’ has reference to the jural relationship which may arise for consideration under international law." The term "jural relation(ship)" seems to be chiefly used in India these days, but was formerly used in other countries, where "legal relation(ship)" is now more common. It still sees some use outside of India in Hohfeldian analysis.

I think the current article arrangement disserves at least two kinds of readers: (1) someone looking for information on what "jural relationships" are will be none the wiser from the current content here, and (2) someone looking for information on tenancy law in Tamil Nadu won't expect it to be in an article on a general legal concept. To better serve the first reader, I would suggest that until we have something substantial to say about how this general concept is used in Indian law specifically, I would suggest that "Jural relationship" (and "jural relation") should redirect to Legal relationship, which should be cleaned up, globalized and expanded. To better serve the second reader, I would suggest that the current article here should be moved to Tenancy law in Tamil Nadu, or ideally to Tenancy law in India if country-wide content can be added. -- Visviva (talk) 02:01, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
