While I'm not the person who placed the hangon tag, I'm adding a rationale here because the person who did place the tag hasn't done so yet. This is a band that meets several criteria of WP:MUSIC, including #2 (has had a charted single or album on any national music chart), #5 (Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels), #1 (although as a pre-Internet era band, the majority of those sources are in print magazines rather than on the web, and thus require digging into library archives...note also that reliable sourcing policy permits sources in any medium, not just web ones), and possibly #3 (has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country), though I'd have to dig into the archives to confirm or retract that one.

Additionally, I'd note that while it isn't actually spelled out in WP:MUSIC, the longstanding if unofficial practice for musical artists has always been that if an artist has a non-empty profile at allmusic.com, then they're at the very least not speediable. And this band does indeed have a non-empty AMG profile.

There's simply no basis for even claiming that the band isn't notable at all. Take it from someone who was there at the time, they were one of the most famous Canadian bands around in their era. Bearcat (talk) 20:17, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I had to make sure I had all my ducks in a row, since I don't actually know them :P - BalthCat (talk) 20:23, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
No worries...lol 20:27, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Some of the information regarding their charting(s) can be found here, although I don't have the time or the musical knowledge to sort it out, I am going to remove the speedy deletion tag though. --kelapstick (talk) 20:38, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hangon!

This concerns the Michele Gould and Suzanne Little articles as well. I've just done some preliminary digging and it appears that these articles do are sufficiently notable to not qualify as speedy-delete. Lava Hay have international google news results, they have albums released on Polydor/Polygram, albums released on Nettwerk - a notable CAnadian independent label - and were featured on their 10th Anniversary retrospective, both women married members of The Grapes of Wrath, and the article claims collaborations with the group as well. I believe the women are notable enough that redirecting them to their husbands' articles would be disrespectful, and that either independently, or as redirects too Lava Hay they may fit notability on their own merits. - BalthCat (talk) 20:20, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've gone ahead and added multiple sources to the Suzanne Little article. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 22:00, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
