Fair use rationale for Image:Gnantlifecast.jpg

edit

Image:Gnantlifecast.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The image Image:Jennisplash.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Article needs some cleaning up

edit

An example would be this section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifecasting_%28video_stream%29#Far_horizons:_Lisa_Batey.2C_Sarah_Austin.2C_Dylan_Reichstadt_and_Justin_Shattuck

Dylan Reichstadt should be moved to the Justin.tv expansion or there should be a list of the most notable lifecasters on the internet in a box or something, with their name and the website they broadcast on. Also, the date they began lifecasting could be provided as well, if the date is known (just the year would work).

Another section which needs cleaning up is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifecasting_%28video_stream%29#Qik

The section in general just needs cleaning up, as well as removal, or separation of the sentence: "Also in 2008 lifecasting found its way into Social Networking at Next2Friends with their introduction of live streamed video from mobile." which is a different website than Qik, so it should receive its own section or something where information about Next2Friends is not in a section which talks about another website where lifecasting occurs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andise1 (talkcontribs) 02:05, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposal

edit

The articles of Lifecasting (video stream) and Lifestreaming appear to cover the same topic at different points in time.

I also propose the merger to be named Life streaming or Lifestreaming since this appears to be the modern WP:COMMONNAME, as seen in this Rolling Stone article, as opposed to the article's outdated claim that "lifecasting" is more popular. 93 19:33, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

If merging Lifecasting and Lifestreaming, Lifecasting should be a subset of Lifestreaming as Lifestreaming is not limited to video or even visual representations. [1]
