I watched this film, on television, back when I was a kid in the 1980's and I remember noticing it had a very made in 1970s feel about it. The clothing in particular was very 1970s in style, flared trousers etc, no shoulder pads or anything else you'd obviously associate with the 1980s. According to Amazon, and other sites, it was in fact first released in 1978 Amazon, Rotten Tomatoes and not in 1981.
