Can we tabilise this information. It look messy and ugly as it is.  The Windler talk  21:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm gonna get around to it. Hold your horses.--Jeff79 (talk) 21:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Change in title

edit

Shouldn't the official title of the article be "List of Australia national rugby league team players"?  The Windler talk  21:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Already thought of it. I find that title too unwieldly and "ugly".--Jeff79 (talk) 21:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure that the term 'Australian Kangaroos' is the best, not only are there five articles, albeit more recent creations, using a fuller page name (List of players for the England national rugby league team, List of players for the Ireland national rugby league team, List of players for the Wales national rugby league team, List of players for the Scotland national rugby league team, List of players for the Great Britain national rugby league team - the GB article is one of yours actually, Jim), but although everyone get called a Kangaroo now if they play for Australia, for decades wouldn't it only be players on tours who were part of a Kangaroos team? LunarLander // talk // 20:20, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I've been reconsidering as well. Perhaps "List of Australia national rugby league team players" or "Australia national rugby league team players register" would be best.--Jeff79 (talk) 11:43, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I like your first suggestion. I think 'list of' is the best way to start the title also. LunarLander // talk // 14:27, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Shall we switch all these articles to the "List of Australia national rugby league team players" format? there aren't too many links into the articles so it should be pretty quick to do. LunarLander // talk // 18:56, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, might as well.--Jeff79 (talk) 08:21, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

2009 Kangaroos

edit

Is there a source for their cap numbers? Or are we just guessing? They haven't appeared on the ARL site yet.--Jeff79 (talk) 04:45, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I don't have an online source. It's just I added them because it said there cap numbers in the 2009 Rugby League Annual. I will continue to look for online sources or wait until they appear on the ARL site. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 08:49, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

If there's a source that you're taking the numbers from then name it in the section at the bottom of the article.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:01, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Didn't you hear me? I said (Sorry I don't have an online source.) Next time read the full comment. I will type in a source if I find one. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 03:56, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

What is it with little kids and editing (or worse still, discussing) RL content on wikipedia? You mentioned some Rugby League Annual. Sounds like a source to me. A source does not have to be available online for you to cite it. Have a read of Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners--Jeff79 (talk) 04:00, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

"International"

edit

Not sure about the truth of the legend A. All the players who have zero next to their name didn't play in an International. The lead paragraph says the date represents "the first year they were called up for international duties". So I might change the legend to say that too. -Sticks66 13:01, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorting by club

edit

I'm using Template:sort so that when sorted by 'Club' alphabetically, teams' data isn't separated throughout the list because of name changes during their history. The most recent name the club has gone by will be the name by which they're sorted. The name the club used in the year appearing in the 'Selected' column will be the name that appears on the list.--Jeff79 (talk) 12:27, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

2009 & 2010 caps

edit

Can't we do this ourselves? It's pretty obvious it's not gonna come up on the ARL site. Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't the cap rules say that they are capped in order of appearance and if they debuted in the same game then they are listed alphabetically. If that is true we can just research a bit and do it ourselves. Any opinions on this? Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 07:05, 3 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, we can't. Have a read of Wikipedia:Truth.--Jeff79 (talk) 14:41, 3 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes i know that, but for example, Brett Morris, Brett White & Ben Hannant all debuted in the same game. According to the cap rules they are supposed to be capped in alphabetical order if they debut in the same game. Therefore Hannant would be 761, Morris 762 & White 763. Do you see what i'm saying? There's no use waiting for a source when we already know it is true. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 07:41, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

You just said, "Yes I know that." By 'that' I presume you meant Wikipedia:Verifiability. Perhaps a re-read?--Jeff79 (talk) 14:21, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Luke Lewis

edit

How can Luke Lewis be capped twice? He's 715 & 765. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 08:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Not sure if that was our error or theirs. This list is taken from the ARL website and they're not infallible. When they updated the list to include 2009 debuts they accidentally deleted 760 (Darius Boyd), but we've retained him in our list.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:03, 24 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Arthur Anlezark

edit

It's a shame that the rl1908.com site seems to have been converted into a one-page ad for Fagan's book as I'm sure that's where I got a lot of detail from for the article on Arthur Anlezark and it can't now be cross-checked there but it would seem that having been selected for Queensland on the strength of his rugby union credentials, effectively Anlezark made appearances for Queensland, an Australian touring side and an Australian Test side before he had ever played a club game.this seems to say that too. Should we call him "no Aust RL club career" in the club column ?-Sticks66 12:03, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ditto for Doug McLean Snr and George Watson who didn't have any RL club careers at all. -Sticks66 12:51, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The same must go for Mike Dore and others, as I understand there were no rugby league clubs in Queensland until 1909. I'm happy for rugby union clubs to appear as that most accurately reflects the situation. Do we know what their clubs were at the time?--Jeff79 (talk) 23:16, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The url for Edward Buckley needs to be removed as it redirects to Edward Bulkley who had nothing to do with Rugby League https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bulkley — Preceding unsigned comment added by AndrewRLP (talkcontribs) 13:29, 30 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

The url for Fred Gilbert goes to someone completely different.AndrewRLP (talk) 04:14, 22 November 2022 (UTC) The url for Ron Griffiths goes to the RL coach, who is a different person. The Ron Griffiths on this list would be very close to 100 years old (he played in the 1940's)AndrewRLP (talk) 04:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC) The url for George Smith goes to the NZ athlete born in the 1800's. I see the register stopped in 2012. Here are the players since then (with their number and year the made their debut) 786 Andrew Fifita 2013 787 Boyd Cordner 2013 788 Josh Papalii 2013 789 Matt Gillett 2014 790 Josh Mansour 2014 791 Daniel Tupou 2014 792 Dylan Walker 2014 793 Aaron Woods 2014 794 Aidan Guerra 2014 795 Sione Mata'utia 2014 796 Ben Hunt 2014 797 Davfd Klemmer 2014 798 Josh Jackson 2014 799 Arthur Conlin 1909 800 Will Chambers 2015 801 Josh Dugan 2015 802 Alex Johnston 2015 803 Trent Merrin 2015 804 Blake Ferguson 2016 805 Semi Radradra 2016 806 Josh McGuire 2016 807 Michael Morgan 2016 808 Shannon Boyd 2016 809 Valentine Holmes 2016 810 Tyson Frizell 2016 811 James Maloney 2016 812 Matt Moylan 2016 813 Justin O'Neill 2016 814 Jake Trbojevic 2016 815 Jake Friend 2016 816 Dane Gagai 2017 817 Wade Graham 2017 818 Jordan McLean 2017 819 Reagan Campbell-Gillard 2017 820 Tom Trbojevic 2017 821 Felise Kaufusi 2017 822 Cameron Munster 2017 832 Cameron Murray 2019

Note: Arthur Conlin (799) was revealed to have had his Test appearances listed under Albert Conlon for well over 100 years. This oversight was rectified and he was given a number after the 2014 rep season had ended. Source: David Middleton's 2017 AnnualAndrewRLP (talk) 00:33, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
