Grouping of dioceses

Fastifex, you are right in pointing out that non-Latin rite dioceses have been grouped into Latin rite dioceses, and this is technically incorrect. However, there exists no concept of "mixed rite provinces"; it is just that in such cases, for the sake of grouping, the Syro-Malabar or Syro-Malankara have been grouped under the province of the archdiocese that it is suffragan to. E.g. the diocese of Kalyan is suffragan to the archdiocese of Bombay, but technically, it is not possible for it to be a part of the province of Bombay, but it has still been grouped together with other dioceses that are suffragan to Bombay. Reordering of dioceses

The dioceses in each province are listed after the archdiocese in alphabetical order. Nalinsharma80, you reordered the dioceses. Please could you explain if there is a pattern to your new order? The Discoverer (talk) 22:24, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Merger proposal

• Oppose: I don't think that it's a good idea to merge Territories of Catholic dioceses in India here. This page is meant to be a simple list of dioceses while the additional info in the other article does not make the structure as clear as this plain list. If we were to merge the territories page here, then next we'll be merging List of Catholic bishops of India and List of cathedrals in India here. This article is part of the category Category:Lists of Roman Catholic dioceses by country and for the sake of uniformity, we should avoid adding the territories information here.
