Inclusion of foreigners

edit

There is an agenda here to include anyone with an Indian connection into the list. As the title mandates only Indian winners and nominees those Non-Indians will be reverted from the list and intro.-- Dravidian  Hero  22:38, 29 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

In order to start an effective and neutral discussion, why not try to frame the problem more appropriately? E.g. "What are the inclusion criteria for this list?" Also, you are the one who started removing large portions of the list, perhaps the agenda is your own? In any case, please wait for a consensus to form and do not, under any circumstances, continue to edit war. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:36, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
You are making a non-existing fake argument that there was no criteria, which is "Indian Academy Award winners and nominees". Next time I will report you if you don't stop creating lies in order to make me look like a fool! -- Dravidian  Hero  15:32, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Once again, go ahead and "report" me. When you do, be sure to let everyone know which "lies" I've created to make you look like a fool. I'm not sure it's me that's doing that. What I am saying is "what are the inclusion criteria for this list?". The Rambling Man (talk) 16:13, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Merle Oberon

edit

Merle Oberon was born in Mumbai and was half Indian. She was nominated for Best Actress in 1935. Is there a reason she is not on this list? Just wanted to check before I added her. 140.180.246.80 (talk) 16:41, 17 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Her article shows it was British India and not India as such. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:49, 17 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Subjective and vague selection of winners selected by previous editors

edit

Some Non-Indian-citizenship of Indian origin are mentioned like M. Night Shymalan BUT other Non-Indian-citizenship Indian origin like Dev Patel are discouraged to be mentioned. What is this? DarpSinghh (talk) 09:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion of Indian-Americans

edit

Why are Indian-Americans included, when they are American citizens of Indian ethnicity?

Is this article based on nationality or ethnicity? If it's the latter why haven't people like Dev Patel and M. Night Shyamalan been included? Yuyutsu Ho (talk) 17:20, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Featured? The list article here is reasonable and almost not completed.

edit

There are many reasons about that article.

1. Are they enough of fully Indian on the list? Why is M. Night Shyamalan appeared on the article but not on a list, and some of Indian diaspora (means Indian people with international co-citizenship, born in or out of India) like Ishu Patel appeared on the list? What about Ben Kingsley? What about Merle Oberon? This article is so confusing. I don't really understand about the information and list because, of course, the former found from the main headpage/article is like milestones and goals including Shyamalan and Indian people who were the first to be nominated but some of Indian diaspora like Ben Kingsley is not appeared. Nationality and ethnicity are deserved to be equal.

2. Most articles like "List of Mexican Academy Award winners and nominees" and "List of Australian Academy Award winners and nominees" was supposed to be separable list, not wholly. It lacks context and it's too short.

3. The title "List of Indian winners and nominees of the Academy Awards" is not fit enough unlike of the countries Academy Award winners and nominees.

That's all. This article don't deserved to be one of the featured articles unless it should be fixed at large; otherwise, it will be removed from the featured badge. GeniusTaker (talk) 13:16, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
