The Title for Chapter 96
editThough I appreciate and often encourage flexible translations of things from Japanese to English, I would prefer to see the title for chapter 96 of Mx0 stay "Secret Couple" or "The Secret Couple" rather than "The Secret of Those 2" or (as I've seen elsewhere) "The Secret Between the Two).
There are a few rationales behind this personally. One is the title in Japanese, which is "himitsu no futari". Translated literally, it comes out to be "Secret's Pair/Couple/Two People" rather than "futari no himitsu" which would come out at "The Pair/Couple/Two People's Secret", which is what people seems to thing the title implies. In Japanese, the first word in this context is always the "owning" word, while the second is the "owned" word. I'm not sure how to make it sound more technical, so I'll give an example. If I wanted to say, "My shirt", it would be literally "(The Word for I/Me) no (The Word for Shirt)" becoming "My Shirt". The same rule applies here. And since it's weird grammatically and understandably to have "Secret's Pair/Couple/Two People", I wrote it as "Secret Couple".
The second reason behind it too is because in the Chapter, it is implied until the very end that Hiiragi and Daimon are some kind of couple or our dating, so it makes sense that the title would reflect that. It's not until the very end that you find out that they are not and therefore understandably people want to make the title "The Secret of Those 2".
So when you see me change this, hopefully this will serve as some reasoning behind this, rather than the usual "I changed it just cause" bit some people enjoy using. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Silent Firefox (talk • contribs) 21:31, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Japanese Title for Chapter 95
editHey, if anyone knows what the title for Chapter 95 is in Japanese, that would be good to add in (I think it's the only one currently that does not have the Japanese title included). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Silent Firefox (talk • contribs) 21:32, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
