Avg instead of total minutes

edit

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of National Basketball Association season minutes leaders debated about whether the leader is typically based off avg or total minutes. Since the only source that was identified to meet WP:LISTN used average, I would support modifying the list to include leaders of avg minutes.—Bagumba (talk) 18:29, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why doesn't this source (the minutes leaders are on pages 130 and 131): [1] meet WP:LISTN?Hoops gza (talk) 23:43, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
It was published by the NBA, which is not an independent source. It's the reason we wouldn't create an article for every stat list from the current ABA, because nobody else covers it. Granted most of what the NBA tracks is usually mentioned by other sources, but the reason we would create an article is because of the coverage it receives, not just because the NBA published it.—Bagumba (talk) 00:39, 23 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
It seems that NBA.com goes by average. Qualifier for minutes leaders on the website says "Player must play 70% of his team's games (58 in 82-game season)". Wouldn't need that if it was a pure total. Not sure why it differs from the printed NBA Guide. This is why sources that satisfy LISTN would be useful to determine what do indy sources generally use.—Bagumba (talk) 00:39, 23 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
