The result of the move request was moved. Unanimous. Aervanath (talk) 04:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I suggest that this article should be renamed "List of Scotland international footballers who were born outside Scotland". Very few of these players were actually foreign in the sense that most of them were (at least) British citizens at birth. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 21:24, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support - Sounds like a good move. You've got my support. – PeeJay 21:34, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support - in reality, foreign doesn't really have a meaning specific enough for this sort of article. – Toon(talk) 22:43, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support, although I think its pretty clear in the article (and referenced) I am happy for the move to occur in the case of British countries due to their special position within FIFA.--Vintagekits (talk) 23:15, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support the idea that Andrew Stuart Murray McCall was a foreigner in the Scottish team because he was born in Leeds is frankly absurd. King of the North East 20:30, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support, or List of Scotland international footballers born outside Scotland - the "who were" is unnecessary in an article title. – ukexpat (talk) 20:04, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Agree, better wording.--Vintagekits (talk) 21:40, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Agree: this wording. The word Foreign is objective, and should never be in an article title, or used as an adjective in articles. Kevin McE (talk) 00:32, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support but rename to List of Scotland international footballers born outside Scotland, as per ukexpat. GiantSnowman 23:15, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Rename...
editWell so much for the shorter, much better proposed title... – ukexpat (talk) 05:00, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Duncan Jupp
editThe England section includes Duncan Jupp. However his article suggests that he only ever played for Scotland at under-21 level and did not play a full international. Looking at the Evening Times Wee Red Book list of Scotland caps, he is not listed, so I do not think he ever did get a full cap. I have a vague memory that he might have been in a Scotland squad when he was at Wimbledon, but even if he was it seems he did not play in a full international match and therefore did not get capped. I do not think being an under-21 international would qualify for inclusion in this article, and if he was to be included on this basis there are others who would also need to be added (Off the top of my head I can think of two other Scotland Under 21 players born in England who are not listed here -Stuart Gray and Jamie Buchan). Before removing him I would be grateful for other editors' opinions. Dunarc (talk) 19:50, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed, its an oversight that he was there. Don't think it was me who added him to the list here but i did create a link to here from his article without checking fully, based on the list. I've now removed the link and someone else has already taken him off the list. Crowsus (talk) 22:21, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- No problem Crowsus. I do remember him being touted for a call-up and the Scotland side had quite a high turnover at that time, so I can easily believe someone though he had been capped. Dunarc (talk) 22:49, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- I have a hazy memory that at some point somebody started adding U-21 internationals to this list (lord knows why). Might be worth checking that there aren't any others that shouldn't be there. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 06:46, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have had a quick look and cannot see any other obvious ones. Dunarc (talk) 21:21, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
