omitted characters
editThis is a great guide, but there are a few characters that aren't listed. They include Kim Pine's parents, and the other members of Knives Chau's family who appeared in the flashback in which Knives's dad found out about Scott dating Knives, and Ramona's cat Gideon if he counts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.9.46.85 (talk) 19:10, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- That's because they're one-off characters with little to no impact on the story. Seemingly minor characters like Jason Kim are included because they are key to plot points and introduced more than once. Knives' other family only appear once (compared to her father) and Kim's parents only appear once. Character lists aren't meant to be guides on every single character, only those with some relevance to the plot.Luminum (talk) 02:00, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Band Name
edit"Sex Bob-omb is Scott's band with Stephen Stills (vocals and guitar) and Kim Pine (drums). The name refers to Bob-omb, a character from the Super Mario series and either the Flipper song "Sex Bomb", or Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb" song. They are an average band, neither wildly popular nor terrible, though the banality of later recording their album results in the band hardly ever playing gigs or practicing and thus getting rusty. In Scott Pilgrim vs. the World film, the music of Sex Bob-omb is provided by Beck."
- hardly, "Sex Bob-omb" is most likely after "Sex Pistols," with the whole game theme twist of the comic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.216.170 (talk) 19:45, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Possible Vandalism
editReading the article, I've noticed something that may be vandalism. It appears every instance of the word "ass" has been replaced with a "$" sign. I would have fixed this myself, however I lack the time to do such a repetitive task at this moment.108.83.168.53 (talk) 23:42, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Ramona
editAlot of these novels have musical references. Ramona is a name in alot of 20's, 30's, and Punk songs. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not this was an influence to her name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.177.141.78 (talk) 18:01, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Character pages?
editI'm not sure if this is gonna happen, but i think that some characters need some character pages, mostly the main ones. I think that we at least need to give some characters their own pages. Like for example, Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Wallace Wells, Stephen Stills, Kim Pine, Young Neil, Knives Chau, Envy Adams, Stacey Pilgrim, Julie Powers, Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, Roxie Richter, and Gideon Graves. I don't know about Ken and Kyle, because they are not important to me. But if anyone can find good sources, good images, and a good notability, please let me know if you wanna support or oppose. - I would recommend starting drafts first. Find as much sourcing as you can get yourself and build something out. As is, I think there's probably plenty enough to justify separate pages for Scott and Ramona, but I would like to see those pages in action rather than just try to imagine them in my head. As for the rest, there's not much in this list page that shows why they would meet independent notability, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. - Is it ok if you help me find good sources and images if we're gonna create it together? Toby2023 (talk) 01:55, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Toby2023 I have my own editing to do and don't have time to help, sorry. I gave you as much as I can with that advice; if you need more help finding resources or anything, I imagine Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics would be a good place to start. Best of luck! And remember, start your article as a draft and don't change anything about this or any other related pages until you know everything is up to snuff and ready. Will be helpful later in case things don't work out and would need to be reverted to their current state. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 20:07, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- Can someone else help me, even if i don't have enough sourcing? Toby2023 (talk) 20:12, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Toby2023: Hello! I recommend getting the sourcing first! I suggest entering character names in Google Books (make sure books are published by reputable companies) and on the Wikipedia Library (check if you have access to it). Use quotation marks like "" to force a search of a full character name. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:55, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm looking in the Google Books and all i see is the books and not the character itself. What should i do? And how would i look for sources for the character in Wikipedia Library? Toby2023 (talk) 21:20, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

- There are lots of good character images that spotlight less important characters like Roxy and the Twins, most of these can be located with relative ease on the Scott Pilgrim Wiki, most of them are also not copyrighted (though the ones coloured by Nathan Fairbarin might be harder to come by). Also, I feel like not all of the character pages you suggested are valid, characters such as Julie, Stephen, Neil, most of the exes aside from Gideon, and some others. Two good options are seeing Wikipedia pages for things such as The Simpsons and using that to base you character opinions for which pages to add upon. The other is to see which characters have a MAJOR role in the film, which include (in my opinion), Scott, Ramona, Knives, Kim (…?), Envy, and Gideon. Stephen and Neil are optional in my opinion. Perhaps you could include them as a collective page called “Sex Bob-Omb”. Chickenmonger (talk) 19:52, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- I have removed the split tags as they are generally used when the sources to justify a standalone article already exist, and the only work that must be done is the process of splitting. Right now there do not seem to be enough sources to pass WP:GNG, requiring further research. In their current state, a character list is where they belong.
- I did find what seems to be SIGCOV of many of the characters in "Superheroes and Identities" on Google Books, and a bunch about Scott Pilgrim in "Age of the Geek: Depictions of Nerds and Geeks in Popular Media". Ramona Flowers got mentioned as "Icon of the decade" in "The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen". ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 13:17, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- Is it possible that if the character's page is create, it will have a "sources exist" tag? Toby2023 (talk) 04:50, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- You preferably don't want to make character pages without sufficient sources, because they will likely get redirected again. "Sources exist" tags are mainly for articles with no obvious place to redirect so they have to stick around despite lack of sourcing. I gave you a heads up on some sources that are out there, but still not enough for an article. You will have to do the heavy lifting there in finding enough sources or just accept they should not be split. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 04:57, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe i should cancel it and not do it at all, would you like that? Toby2023 (talk) 01:23, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

More stuff
editIf I'm going to add character pages, might as well do bands or the League of Evil Exes. If i might be able to succeed in the character pages, maybe Sex Bob-Omb can have it's own article too, despite being fictional. The League of Evil Exes can have it's own article, if possible, can have Kyle and Ken redirect here instead of the character list, and Gideon, Matthew, Lucas, Todd, and Roxie can have their own pages. About The Clash at Demonhead? I'll have to think of it, but i might get sources linked to the band instead of the game, so if does happen, might redirect it to Envy Adams when she gets her own article, or if i manage it, i might Lynette Guycott redirected here. About other bands? I will have to redirect them to the character pages once successful. So yeah, hope this happens. Toby2023 (talk) 19:29, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- Make sure they satisfy the notability guideline at WP:FICT. Spinixster (trout me!) 15:02, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
