The series was reported that a revival of the series was in early development at Paramount+.[1] Meanwhile, it will have a planned true-crime docuseries, titled The Real Criminal Minds was also ordered by Paramount+. - Is there a source that says that the Criminal Minds reboot and docuseries will be Star Originals? APD (hmu) 14:02, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Apd9696: Criminal Minds, which is not reboot but revival, is not yet to be a Star Original, but it is distributed by ABC Studios, a Disney company. I am waiting for the announcement of the series whether it will be a Star Original. -St3095 (?) 17:48, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
Critics scores
editIs there anything speaking against adding a new column with critics and audience scores from for example the IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes? CanePlayz (Jacob) (talk) 21:56, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Split
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was not to split. -St3095 (?) 07:45, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
I propose that sections List of Star (Disney+) original programming#Exclusive international distribution be split into a separate page called List of Star (Disney+) exclusive international distribution programming. I've just closed the discussion about Splitting proposal for "List of Star (Disney+) original programming". So, I want the list of "exclusive international distribution" films and TV series be split into the new article. -St3095 (?) 12:18, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Splitting Originals from EID programming would just confuse anyone trying to navigate Star subjects and content here generally. Both are branded as "Star Originals", and some aren't even branded at all, so having them all in a single article benefits the end user. Mitchy Power (talk) 13:37, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose For same reasons as mentioned by the user above. To anyone using Star, these are all just "Star Originals." The only people who would say otherwise are those using wikipedias terminology. This split would confuse any readers. MarvelousMusician397 (talk) 15:38, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose These are all considered Original programming by the Star service. Too much to read for users. CartoonnewsCP (talk) 16:35, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose For different reasons, but I also oppose. It is probably too early to split as there are currently only 2 original programs. Otherwise at a later stage I do support the split: these are definitely not originals, but licensed programs from other Disney assets and "friends" (like Fox), there is big chance that some are available only for a limited time and then they would disappear. Originals would stay originals forever. 192.193.116.137 (talk) 12:16, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
The Chi
editThe Chi is z Star Original internationally including the UK , although broadcast on Showtime it's owned by 20th Television. 2A00:23C5:3A7C:3F01:901F:7B1B:61B2:C793 (talk) 11:23, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
About the series "The Chi":
- This series is not available on Disney+ (Star) in all countries.
- This series was previously broadcast by local TV channels in some countries. The premiere of the series took place, for example, on the TV channels Fox (Italy) and Fox Crime (Spain) or on the video-on-demand services FOX+ (Portugal) and FOX Play (France).
Please create a new line properly according to the template. With verifiable information (no link to Disney+ page). Here is an example:
Title | Genre | Original network | Premiere | Seasons | Runtime | Exclusive region(s) | Status |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Chi | Drama | Showtime | MM-DD-YYYY | 4 seasons, 40 episodes | 46–58 min | List of countries where the series is really a Star original | Renewed [Link] |
Should Nomadland be a Star Original or just even be included on this list?
editNomadland has been placed on this list since it became available on Disney+ but I've always been bothered by its inclusion since in many countries it debuted in theatres before or after it debuted on Disney+. Also in many countries, like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, it can't even be said to be exclusive for streaming as it's available on Crave, Foxtel Now, and Neon, respectively. Should it be included on the list? I think since time has passed and we've seen other Disney films taking shorter theatrical windows, Nomadland seems more in line with those rather than a Star Original. Plus, I don't believe it has been labelled as a Star Original in any country (Correct me if I'm wrong). LFLEncycolpedia (talk) 08:58, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- I don't understand why anything besides Star Originals would qualify as original programming. What's the point of "exclusive international distribution" if these programs did not originate under Star? If BBC got rights to Nomadland, are you saying we'd list that film under BBC original programming? Seems to me that the list needs to be Star Originals only. - Everything under List of Star (Disney+) original programming#Exclusive international distribution should be deleted. This kind of list cruft is part of the reason these articles are called "(x) original programming". Something that debuted elsewhere is not an original program. Gonnym (talk) 14:15, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- The biggest problem with this thinking is because the large majority of these List of Star (Disney+) original programming#Exclusive international distribution are labelled as Star Originals on the platform. Removing them will confuse readers since they will see on the Disney+ interface all these Star Originals (which yes are not original programming for Star) not listed. What to do with Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand? STAR has been added to Disney+ Hotstar there since May 3, 2023.
editList of Disney+ Hotstar original programming#Southeast Asian original programming and List of Disney+ Hotstar original programming#Exclusive international distribution are about to be messy and for India only.
Star has been added to Disney+ Hotstar in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand from May 3. Not only that, new programs here have also been branded as "Star Originals" instead of Hotstar Originals now (e.g. the new PSY concert)
Should we incorporate ID, MY, TH Star programs into this article? ChickyBros (talk) 12:33, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
Split#Exclusive international distribution 2.
editI propose that section List of Star (Disney+) original programming#Exclusive international distribution be split into a separate page called List of Star (Disney+) exclusive international distribution programming, like it was proposed before in 2021. We have reached the point where it takes up too much space. Also these kinds of list of programs are generally spun-off into their own pages once they reach a considerable length, which I think they did here. Both Hulu and Netflix have them (and Amazon too). Seprentyu (talk) 13:39, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The article is well under the recommended size to split off/trim per WP:SIZERULE at 199 KB (5,184 words). See also WP:HASTE. Nisf (talk) 13:23, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with Nisf's argument. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 [𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 13:41, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, understood. We should wait then until the page reaches 8000 words. I can accept that, however I think it would make sense to make the split even now, exclusive distribution programming is not original programming and we are still listing them under this title.
