Merge

edit

All episode articles except the first two were redirected here, because they contained no information unique to those articles. There was literally nothing to merge; it's all here already (except for expanded plot summaries, which aren't encyclopedic on their own). The articles for the first two episodes are borderline, but they discuss aspects of the production and reception of the episodes that aren't discussed here, so I left them. If multiple, reliable sources can be found that discuss one of the other episodes in detail (beyond plot summaries and ratings), the article for that episode can be recreated. Season 2

edit

The episode summaries are ridiculously long. Should they be cut back to avoid a in-depth narrative. Also they do avoid spoilers, which is not part of Wikipedia's guidelines.

Vampire Reports

edit

There's three shorts that I think should be included on this page - they're each 5-6 minutes long, in the form of an in-universe newscast. Thing is, I'm not exactly sure what they were created for. I saw them on the HBO On Demand channel, but I don't know if they're originally DVD extras, webisodes, filler/promotional material, or what. If somebody knows where these things come from, they should be added to the page. Lurlock (talk) 22:43, 8 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

TV Guide style summaries

edit

The episode summaries are written like something from TV Guide or the network site. They tease and mislead, and are often avoidant of spoilage. This is Wikipedia, and a more complete disclosure of what happened in an episode is appropriate. Season 1 episode 12 should state who the real killer was, for instance. Season 2 episode 1 says "another shocking murder." It should say who was murdered. Edison (talk) 19:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Some of those summaries were posted here before the episodes actually aired, so nobody (outside the production) really knew anything more specific than what was listed in TV Guide previews. (e.g. All of the Season 2 eps were posted before the season started) Feel free to improve on what's there if you know more, but things don't necessarily happen instantly around here. I've written a few summaries for the first three episodes of season two, and will continue to do so for the second season. I'll go back and do the same for the first season episodes when I can if no one else does so. I don't know if I'm doing them as well as they could be done, so anyone please feel free to improve on them.SchrutedIt08 (talk) 12:08, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Too many spoilers, if you want more about the episodes, should wait til end of season 68.43.233.110 (talk) 14:33, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia guidelines dictate that spoilers should not be avoided, and can be written in articles according to the writer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.87.157 (talk) 07:14, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I rewrote "Timebomb" summary and if I have time I'll come back to boil down the others. I agree that major plot items are useful to have here, but they should be shorter. 216.229.170.65 (talk) 02:32, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Transclusion

edit

I've added a few more summaries to the first season. I'll be done with the rest in the next couple of days. As they're quite long, this article has gotten inflated. I think transclusion would be a good idea, e.g. List of Lost episodes or List of House episodes. If this was done, it would bring the size of the episode list page down considerably. Anyone have any major objections to this?(SchrutedIt08 (talk) 12:26, 22 July 2009 (UTC))Reply

I agree. The episode descriptions are very long, and as such this article does not seem to fit the format of episode lists from other shows (such as the ones you mentioned). I'd say move the lengthy descriptions into separate articles for each episode and add production details and episode photos if available. JohnnyGrungetta (talk) 09:15, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done with season one. Thanks to whoever created that page, saves me from doing it. Will do season two.SchrutedIt08 (talk) 05:55, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Season two is done as well. Thanks to everyone who is helping out with the separate season pages. Here's to season three! SchrutedIt08 (talk) 02:39, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Different Canadian titles?

edit

I was wondering where the idea came from that the Canadian titles of season 2 episodes were different. I watch the programme on HBO Canada in B.C. and the titles are as they're given for the American episodes. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:56, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Someone uploaded that info after episode six aired. I tried to get some references for it, but I can't log into HBOCanada.com from where I am. If someone in Canada could verify the titles that would be great. If not, I'd be happy to take it off the page.SchrutedIt08 (talk) 11:14, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's [1]. My understanding is that Wikipedia frowns on adding citations that can only be viewed by a single country, but I think in this case since it's talking about a single country, that has to be a useful cite. Accounting4Taste:talk 16:21, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
