Talk:List of University of Texas at Austin alumni/Archive 1

Graduation date

edit

Why does this list not include year of graduation (if applicable) to alumni? VarunRajendran 22:17, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

People vs. alumni

edit

Why is this article entitled "people" and not "alumni"? Ario 07:42, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article is titled "people" in convention with several other school articles to allow for people such as professors or administration, who may not have gone to the school but are famously associated with it, to be included also. — Scm83x talk   09:46, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Some of the people listed attended the university but didn't actually graduate. -The preceding unsigned comment was added by Calamity jen (talk • contribs) .

Vince Young

edit

Is he notable enough for inclusion here? He's the only future NFL player I see.Mikereichold 10:25, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Note to the anon who blanked my comment above--Please do not remove comments from talk page. If you disagree with the comment, simply state your disagreement and why. Frankly, I see this as a vanity addition to the article. He is the only "future" NFL player listed. "Certified badas"s is probably not appropriate in an encyclopedia. Whether or not that is so needs to be determined by consenus. Consensus needs to be arrived at to discussion on the talk page Thanks.Mikereichold 10:34, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Apparently there has been sonme edit reversion back and forth of the caption of this entry. My point in making the entry was in questioning the merit of the Vince Young entry in the article as a whole and the badass part in particular. I have no problem with the version as per Jareha. New additions

edit

Why delete Robert Crippen, Joe Jamail and Tommy Franks? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.10.0.145 (talk • contribs) .

Tommy Franks went to the University of Texas at Arlington. The other additions you made have been added back in. Thanks! jareha 05:36, 3 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Franks also attended the University of Texas prior to UTA. He left prior to graduating. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.10.0.145 (talk • contribs) .
If you have verification of this, it can go back into the article. jareha 17:46, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks and a request

edit

Rebelguys2, thanks for building out this list and especially for your recent rehaul! As for the request, can you think of a selected biography for the University portal? That's one of the few empty boxes left there. jareha (comments) 01:01, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sarah Weddington

edit

Does Sarah Weddington belong under alumni or staff? (Maybe we should bold alumni who've served as faculty and note this at the top of the article?) jareha (comments) 18:23, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, thus far, I've been placing individuals who've been both a student and a staff or faculty member under the section for alumni. No real reason or precedent for doing that, though. But, yeah, we ought to find a way to differentiate for these special cases. — Rebelguys2 talk 18:36, 9 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
