176 Million copies worldwide seems to be correct, I believe it has originated from this AnimeAnime page published in September 2015. The reference on the list of best-selling comic series needs to be updated, a blog page should not be referenced, despite the fact that it may be credible.
50 million copies are stated to come from Japan only, both references used are of references written in English. But from the same AnimeAnime page published in 2015, it says only 45.64 Million copies are achieved within Japan, contradicting the two English sources published in 2012? Edit: Now examining further, the source from AnimeAnime page seems to be copied off via Wikipedia originally? There are no prior article from early 2000s stating it could have sold this amount. RikaHonjo (talk) 09:11, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
It probably shouldn't? since then we could group Naruto and Boruto together? Then you should also group Fairy tail and Fairy tail 100 year quest? 92.37.47.85 (talk) 09:48, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The sources for copies in circulation of Fairy Tail and Naruto state that the figures are for the two respective main series (they don't mention spin-offs and other series); on the other hand, the source for the 55 million copies of TSDS and FKOTA counts both series as one.
