Talk:List of books banned in India

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on List of books banned in India. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Unsubstantiated claims of banning recent book

edit

A user had recently added a book called 22's Diary as a banned book with citations that had no reference to the book (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_books_banned_in_India&diff=prev&oldid=830418708). Upon searching for a reference myself, I was unable to find any sources that would validate this claim. On the other hand, there have been multiple attempts in the past to add this book with unsourced/copied references which were then reverted (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_books_banned_in_India&diff=774600397&oldid=774277299 and https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_books_banned_in_India&diff=prev&oldid=811662908). I suspect that this book is being repeatedly added to this list for marketing/publicity.

Banned is not the same as withdrawn by publisher

edit

I think this list needs to differentiate banned by the government and withdrawn due to a court settlement such. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:23, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
