American films
editWhy does the main list only contain American films? It creates the suggestion that comedy films are American by default, which is not true. Riki (talk) 16:51, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
2010's
editIs there an existing list for 2010-19? If so, it isn't in the list on the top right.

Removal of films with no article but with sources
editHello, @Discospinster:, I see you removed from the list all films that had no WP page. Could we agree that if they have one or more reliable source to verify information and attest a limited notability, they can be reinserted? And other (with the same requirement) added? Quite a few Afds use lists s as targets for redirecting pages about films with tangential notability. And if they end up removed, then, it means that all the efforts to find ATDs were made in vain (and that the consensus that emerged at Afds was in fact not respected). Hope you agree and can reinstate some of the films you have removed. Thank you in advance. Best,-My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 22:55, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- What would be sufficient to attest a limited notability? Can you give an example of some of these films? ... discospinster talk 00:53, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- At least one reliable source might attest sufficient notability or verifiability to be listed, I'd say. Example, among those you removed: Just Sue Me (and its Afd). But I seem to remember other films I have seen at Afds used to redirect here. Anyway plenty of films are redirected to lists of films (by genre, year, country, etc) as ATD. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 01:13, 11 March 2024 (UTC) (Also if they are removed, the redirects are generally deleted after some time (with a "not in the target" rationale.)
- The reference given in the entry is just a sparse listing in TVGuide magazine, it only confirms that the film exists, not that there is even limited notability. If every movie that ever came out was listed, the article would just be a directory, which Wikipedia is not. I don't see any difference between that and a college article's alumni section that lists Joe Blow because he was in the local newspaper once. ... discospinster talk 02:11, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- You don't? That's too bad. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 02:38, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
