Hello, I'm here to end dispution of prison films being added to this list. According to this site, the prison film is a sub-genre of the crime film. I believe these films should be included then. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:59, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
From what I know, I haven't heard anyone say "In the crime film The Shawshank Redemption" or "The Shawshank Redemption great crime film". Prison films should be lumped into drama. 200.161.62.153 (talk) 14:16, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's not the point. It is a subgenre of the crime film and should be included on this basis. It's not like Goodfellas or The Public Enemy, but unless you find more evidence otherwise that the Prison film should not be included in a list of crime films, then this should still be included.
