editArjayay Should the non-referenced non linked institutions not be deleted. Further, why red links? Create page first, then add link. Also add link to the specific institute, not the whole society. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 14:44, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- Although I agree with "No article = No inclusion" unfortunately this is not a set Wikipedia standard.
- In some schools articles e.g. List of schools in Nigeria this is enforced, (but if you look at the edit page of that article you can see how many reversions I have to do to enforce this)
In some other articles schools who can show they are notable by adding reliable, independent, sources are included. In some others a link to the Schools web-site is sufficient.
In most schools articles e.g. List of schools in the Gambia there is no such rule.
- In some schools articles e.g. List of schools in Nigeria this is enforced, (but if you look at the edit page of that article you can see how many reversions I have to do to enforce this)
- One problem is that, under Wikipedia's guidelines, all Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges/Universities are deemed to be "Notable". I think that, with about 1 Million such schools world-wide, and schools articles being among the most vandalized, that is a mistake, but that is policy.
- We can propose an inclusion criteria for this article, and if it has not been objected to in say, 30 days, can implement it, as being as consensus.
As for linking schools that are part of an institute, this is more difficult - do we really want/need an article on every single school?
I don't think so, especially if there is a central article explaining what the principals, be they religious, teaching methods, or whatever, are.
It is useful to link to such an article as the reader can then see what the guiding policies/ideas of the school are. - Arjayay (talk) 15:19, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
Why have you deleted the schools like SOS which have their own Wikipedia page Arjayay -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 14:46, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- My mistake Capankajsmilyo I transferred them to a spreadsheet to sort them A to Z, but those after Ma in the original list were not transferred - thanks for pointing that out - Arjayay (talk) 14:56, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
