Spider-Man: No Way Home

edit

Why was Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) removed from the inflation-adjusted list? It is on the gross earnings list, but should be #23 on the inflation-adjusted list also. It used to be there a month or so ago. What happened? The Bearded One (talk) 15:50, 27 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Infinity War gross

edit

The adjusted gross for Avengers: Infinity War seems to be lower than the unadjusted gross. Is this possible?67.173.23.66 (talk) 21:13, 9 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Table background color for current movies

edit

I have changed the background color from a cell to entire row for the current movies in the gross movie collection section. I’m not sure if it’s a standard, bu to me it looks better as somebody scroll to the right and have the entire row for the data highlighted rather than just a cell.

If its violating any policy then please revert it. OpenMindedBloke (talk) 08:29, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Gone with the wind

Why is "Gone with the wind" not in the "Not adjusted for inflation" list? George Rodney Maruri Game (talk) 07:26, 14 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Update the inflation figures

edit

Since BOM stopped updating the inflation figures for 3 years now, I suggest we start updating this tables by using the same method from List of highest-grossing films#Highest-grossing films adjusted for inflation, by using the latest BOM 2019 Inflation figures and updating them using Template:Inflation while adding the newer releases and updating them too as the years come. ex.: Gone with the Wind $2,258,815,701...Also, we might have to remove the tickets tab since we don't have access to those figures for the new releases. It seems like a sensible solution. If the admissions have been deprecated then we should just remove the column and keep it simple. God, isn't Box Office Mojo crap these days? I have made two minor adjustments: i) it appears that 2020 is the final index, at least according to this: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/industry-research/box-office-mojo-by-imdbpro-faq/GCWTV4MQKGWRAUAP?ref_=mojo_cso_md#inflation; ii) I have re-ranked Avatar according to its adjusted box-office gross, as opposed to its admissions. Any sources on silent era films?

edit

I'm particularly talking about TBoaN and A Trip to the Moon, both of which probably have a pretty damn high adjusted gross, we just need to find reliable sources Alena 33 (talk) 17:39, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Accurate box-office tracking only really began with Daily Variety in 1933; prior to then we are mostly dependent on studio archives. It's estimated that The Birth of a Nation took about $60 million worldwide on its initial release. Around 40% ($25 million) of that came from roadshows in the US alone, which equates to $750 million at today's prices. When you factor in revenue from the state rights, you're looking at $40 million (a very iffy approximate) which equates to $1.2 billion today, which would put it in the top 10 adjusted. It made a considerable sum from reissues too. The data simply doesn't exist to pin it down accurately though. Betty Logan (talk) 20:02, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Inflation adjustments for 2024 re-releases of The Lord of the Rings films in highest-grossing film franchises

edit

I'm having trouble adjusting the grosses for those films now that they are back in theaters. Could someone else do them or explain how to do it? Please. And1987 (talk) 18:07, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why is Avengers not calculated into the MCU?

edit

Avengers are Marvel and the redirect sends you to MCU. 73.53.5.61 (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's counted both as part of the MCU and separately. 2601:249:9301:D570:9862:6B3E:A395:D830 (talk) 19:21, 3 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
