editBoth the list of categories and books are very incomplete. Especially missing are list of books on Buddhism, Jainism. Also, currently only titles that are nationally known are included. Not sure if we want to add regional texts also.

I believe there is some confusion. The list says list of texts, instead of literature. But then is gives the date of when it could has be composed instead of written. And also the list should have been in the order of written down date. Or atleast change the title to list of composed. Nick4all18 (talk) 20:12, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
What constitutes historical?
editDo we include 18th century books or not? What about 19th century? When does a text become "Historical"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by I am not an Octopus (talk • contribs) 09:36, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Reliable sources
editI'm rather skeptical whether works such as "An Introduction to Hinduism" can be taken to prove a certain dating for religious texts, the dating of which is intensely disputed scientifically and loaded ideologically. Such a dating should rather rely on specific scientific studies that analyze different arguments critically. --82.131.43.212 (talk) 08:28, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
Tamil Sangam Literature
editThere is a glaring omission of Tamil Sangam literature, and I’m sure many many non Sanskrit classics from all over the country. 49.205.135.108 (talk) 02:03, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
Numbering?
editCan someone number the texts (is there a way to do it on wiki?). So we have an ideal how many texts there are.
