I added all the islands I found here (long live grep), but still is needed wich islands are claimed, which under the Antártida Argentina, and wich currently under the UK. Mariano(t/c) 10:51, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Separating the lists

I draw attention to the fact that I have previously edited this page under the name User:Xaghko, an account which I keep for my use on public computers.

Given that many of these islands are not universally accepted as Argentine, what do people think of splitting the list into three:

• Islands administered by Argentina whose sovereignty is not in question
• Islands administered by the another country whose sovereignty is disputed between the United Kingdom and Argentina (that'll mostly be the Falklands and SGSSI]]).
• Islands falling under the Antarctic Treaty

I should say, have my doubts of the NPOV-ness of including this list on Wikipedia at all, given the controversy behind the claims to a fairly large proportion of these islands. There are WP:UE issues, most notably in the Falklands and with the fact that isla is not an English word. Pfainuk talk 12:32, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

List of Argentine islands and islands claimed by Argentina → List of islands of Argentina – Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Stand-alone lists#Titles. The detailed inclusion criteria must be mentioned in the lead, not in the name of the list itself (which is very long right now). It should also be "islands of Argentina" and not "Argentine islands" per the standard at Category:Lists of islands Cambalachero (talk) 03:14, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

• This appears to be the sort of uncontroversial moves that can just be made without going through WP:RM. Unless there are any objections I would suggest deleting the above template and just making the move, or listing at WP:RM technical moves if there is some reason it can not be moved.   • The article was once moved from the proposed name to the current one, and I wanted to avoid unneeded trouble. But if there is no opposing in some days, I will accept the proposal and move the page directly. Cambalachero (talk) 13:54, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
