Refocus?
editThe bulk of the comics are dealt with elsewhere (in particular List of films based on English-language comics) and I was wondering what to do with this entry. The solution seems to me to be refocusing it and moving it to: List of films based on cartoons as this would be a useful addition to the range of related entries. Thoughts? - I should add that there are some items there which don't fit into comics or cartoons (like Stuart Little and the Cat in the Hat) but these are dealt with here: List of children's books made into feature films (Emperor 17:14, 18 February 2007 (UTC))
Split
edit- Split As I discuss above the bulk of the items listed are covered in entries like List of films based on comics and List of children's books made into feature films so what we need to do is split those off and add them to the relevant entries (if needed) and the rest of this entry moved to List of films based on cartoons which would be a well focused and useful list. - Agreed;this article should be moved to List of films based on cartoons with the comic/children's book portions removed. If desired, I can move and edit it. ~ Wakandas black panther 11:31, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone going to work on this? Cartoons and comics do not have enough in common to be lumped together. Rhindle The Red 00:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed that the comics are already listed elsewhere. What about movies for G.I. Joe and Transformers? To promote their toy lines, they had a comic book and a cartoon made at the same time. Which one influenced the movie? And is it based on either the comic or the cartoon, or just on the toys themselves? Dream Focus 01:40, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I have updated the List of films based on cartoons to include the films listed here. In my opinion, this page no longer needs to exist because films based on comics, comic strips, and cartoons are all listed elsewhere on more useful pages. If someone would like to create a list of films based on toys, feel free as one doesn't seem to exist. Osubuckeyeguy (talk) 21:13, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

- Anime counts as cartoons. Animation might be a better name for this article, or animated shows. Dream Focus 01:38, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
