Keep shows only with Wikipedia Pages

Indian television is dynamic with more than 1000 channels. We can't add every single show here or else the page will see no end. Add only shows that are notable and have wikipages here. Discuss. JayB91 (talk) 12:07, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

@JayB91: Thankyou for opening the discussion here. I agree with the part that the list is becoming long but adding series with only wikipages will not be the right option( and removing just 2 series from top is definitely not the right thing) as most of the regional series don't have English wiki pages so I would suggest that we either should either remove the 500-999 section or we should increase the number to 800-999 episodes. Remove the non-wiki pages series, plus remove all the reality, talk and news shows. For example Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has had more than 26 seasons and definitely more than 2000 episodes that no one has bothered to count or keep record of. We cant have talk show like Aaj Tak has a 'Saas Bahu Betiyan' daily talk shows for the last 10 years; which itself will result in more than 3000 episodes. So lets keep the list to the point and remove shows that dont have wiki-pages which itself will be evidence of notability. No need to change the list dividing the list by episodes; pretty linear it is. JayB91 (talk) 20:30, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

@JayB91: Now it makes some sense actually I was in favor on this thing but your edit summaries were somewhat problematic. You should open more discussions it will be helpful. I am removing all non-wiki pages as per Notability and WP:NOTEVERYTHING. Keeping the non-fiction series wikipages(just because we don't have info about some series (or maybe a lot of series) doesn't mean that we should also remove the ones with info). Television doesn't consists of only soap operas. Almost any show in sequence can be called as series. So all types of shows should be included here. Vatsmaxed (talk)

@JayB91:@Vatsmaxed:@Sid95Q: what should be minimum number of years for a series' running time???? As earlier it was a minimum of 4 year run or 1000 episodes run. List needs to be organized by "number of years/season"

This list needs to be organized by "number of years or season aired", not by number of episodes. See, for example, List of longest-running United States television series or List of longest-running UK television series. Now, those lists aren't "perfectly formatted" either, but they're better than this one.

So somebody definitely needs to add a column for "number of years [or seasons]" here. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 15:10, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
