editOrphaned references in List of tallest buildings and structures in the Indian subcontinent
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of tallest buildings and structures in the Indian subcontinent's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

questionable data about city center's height
editplease refer to this picture http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/50813175.jpg . in this picture one can see Janata Bank Bhaban (76m) and City Center Dhaka(171m).if City Center is really 171 m high than it should look more than two times taller than janata bank but in real it is not .RiSHisOm (talk) 09:44, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
notes about photograph--
1 .distance between Janta Bank Bhaban (76m) and City Center Dhaka(171m) is only 50 m (check Google earth) so optical illusion is out of question here.
2. brown building = Janata Bank Bhaban , Green Glass = City Center Dhaka — Preceding unsigned comment added by RiSHisOm (talk • contribs) 09:45, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Source contradicts what is in the article
editI noticed that the tallest building in the list is named Ocean Towers and the height is given at 676 meters (2,218 ft)while the referenced website says the height as 393 feet. UMDP (talk) 12:26, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Tallest Building in South Asia
editRegarding the Tallest building in South Asia, Bahria Icon Tower in Karachi, Pakistan is 286m with 62 floors has been topped out and inaugurated. Records suggest it is the tallest in the region as other buildings mainly in Mumbai, India like Palais Royale was supposed to be 88 floors with 320m in height but it is 56 floors and not topped out and has been ordered by High Court in India to withdraw from illegal floors being built, so the final floor count will be 56 floors. So technically we cannot Add underconstruction buildings in Completed section, Why people are continuously adding it to the top? Do not mislead the people for your own goals. thanks
As the records suggests, Bahria Icon Tower in Karachi, Pakistan is the only topped out building with a Height of 286m and 62 floors. The edit is being removed continuously by people. Kindly share your opinions regarding this and correct me if I am wrong somewhere. Regards Ahmadtamiz (talk) 06:00, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Requested move 12 February 2020
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Speedy close; revert to status quo ante. This RM is seeking to restore the article to where it was located for a year and a half until today. A full discussion is not necessary to do this and this will prevent confusion about no consensus outcomes to any future discussion. Timrollpickering (Talk) 21:03, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- List of tallest buildings and structures in South Asia → List of tallest buildings and structures in Indian subcontinent
- Talk:List of tallest buildings and structures in South Asia → Talk:List of tallest buildings and structures in Indian subcontinent
– The page and talk have been moved from Indian subcontinent to South Asia without any RfP or discussion on talk page which happens to be incorrect. The definition of Indian subcontinent is restricted to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. These states were a part of former supercontinent Gondwana. South Asia refers to an uncertain region with ambiguous definitions, located between mideast and east Asia and includes Afghanistan and sometimes Iran and Myanmar. The list is about Indian subcontinent and accounts countries only which lie in Indian subcontinent. South Asia cannot simply redirect to Indian subcontinent. Nor the subject of this article covers South Asia itself. Aman Kumar Goel(Talk) 13:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

List of tallest buildings and structures in South Asia → List of tallest buildings and structures in the Indian subcontinent – Article strictly covers Indian subcontinent and not South Asia which includes Afghanistan in general conventions. Nor South Asia holds any strict definition and holds Myanmar, Tibet SAR & Iran in terms of extended definitions. The page ever since created held same title for quite long time for a very good reason and was swiftly restored in Talk:List of tallest buildings and structures in South Asia#Requested move 12 February 2020 by Timrollpickering at previous request. Disruptions have been earlier by various editors including CUTPASTE moves. I request to rollback the previous undiscussed move quickly hereby. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 19:44, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

- @UKayani786 This list and most building lists on wikipedia follow skyscraper center(CTBUH) data and additionally emporis is also considered a reliable source both sources mention Bahria Icon Tower as 273m and both databases also say its on Hold. please read these [1] and [2]. Thanks. Joy goel (talk) 08:26, 7 April 2024 (UTC)

- @UKayani786 What do you mean when you say 'What is CTBUH' it is the most reputed and reliable source available for skyscraper data, and its a reliable source see WP:RS. All the building heights on this list are according to CTBUH data I don't see any reason to make an exception for the Bahria Icon tower, and not only CTBUH but another reliable source say its height is 273 m see this.
