Not sure all of these belong...
edit- Punisher 2 became Punisher: War Zone, so I think it's a stretch to call that "unproduced".
- Kick Ass and its related properties are Mark Millar's, not Marvel.
- GotG 3 will be made, so that seems odd to include. Gunn's departure is high profile but not an uncommon event when a film is being made.
- Ditto for Ant-Man. The movie was produced.
- The quote for Warriors Three seems like an offhand comment, not a confirmation anything was ever in development...

You are kind of correct, however like its sister page List of unproduced DC Comics projects, these are attempts at films that evolved into a completely different version. For example, the List of unproduced DC Comics projects has a section that talks about early attempts at an Aquaman film. The films you listed are early attempts that became a completely different film. I could create a new section for early attempts at a film, that became a new film, if I must, but these additions were put in to match the rules and ideas from List of unproduced DC Comics projects. Even then, Punisher War Zone is not a sequel to the 2004 Punisher, as its a remake. The Punisher 2 section is for the film that would actually connect to the 2004 Punisher film. Its the same with Hulk 2, the product was meant to be a sequel but was completely rewritten to be a remake, The Incredible Hulk. Kick-Ass was still published by Icon Comics, and is even listed on the List of films based on Marvel Comics, as a Marvel imprint. Gotg3 will be made eventually, but will differ radically in style, execution, or even rewrites from what Gunn would of done. It would just be a different version from Gunn's. Same as Edgar Wright, he left the project after developing it for 8+ years because Marvel rewrote his script, his style and work was diluted from the product. I do 100% agree with the Warriors 3 film, probably never started development. Cardei012597 (talk) 20:37, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
Another example on List of unproduced DC Comics projects is listing Darren Aronofsky's Batman: Year One film, as that also partially evolved into Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. Aronofsky's film is still considered an unproduced film, as his situation is quite similar to Edgar Wright's on Ant-Man. With additions like these, I think they should be noteworthy enough to include, not just a random guy on a film for a few days, but literal extensive development, 6+ years at least, before another director takes over. So, Edgar Wright's involvement should stay. Cardei012597 (talk) 20:49, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- I've removed a bunch that were never in any form of development. If the project never had a writer or director attached, or some sources back up pretty solid development work done, I don't think it should be included. Also, removed Gunn and GotG Vol 3, because his script is still being planned to be used. If it wasn't then I'd say include it (similar to Edgar Wright and Ant-Man). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:49, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
Fox Marvel films that have not started filming or had recent development news: Disney / Fox deal
editDo you agree with my decision to add Fox Marvel films that have not started filming or had recent development news on this page? I decided not to add Deadpool 3 or X-Force as there is more demand and assured box office success for those films, compared to the lot I added to this page. It is possible to see the films I added to the page be outright canceled or abandoned due to the Disney deal, and most of these projects have not had announcements for many months. There is a lot of confusion and uncertainty for any future Fox Marvel film, that is why I considered them to be in development limbo (films accepted for this page). Before you do any major edits on the Disney / Fox films, please reply to this discussion and we can work something out. Cardei012597 (talk) 23:08, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Red Sonja
editI researched this information and I gathered that the character of Red Sonja was created by Marvel Comics for their brief Conan the Barbarian comicbook line. She did not appear in the Ron E. Howard books. Her first appearance is from a Marvel comic book; she was created by Marvel. My question is, if we can agree about this, can we add the abandoned remake of Red Sonja to this page? Heck, her own wiki page lists her as a Marvel Comics character. Thoughts? Cardei012597 (talk) 18:41, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
Fox
editthis page is starting to get big may I suggest a split to something like List of unproduced 20th Century Fox projects based on Marvel Comics 92.236.253.249 (talk) 19:00, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- There already a X men page probably best to turn into a fox page 92.236.253.249 (talk) 22:56, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Orphaned references in List of unproduced film projects based on Marvel Comics
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of unproduced film projects based on Marvel Comics's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Referencing issues
editThere are a couple dozen undefined references in this page, and that's even after that robot fixed about three dozen. Has anyone verified the robot's fixes? What is the plan for addressing these issues? Since the problem is egregious, my inclination is to just delete the offending section. It can be rebuilt by anyone interested when they have time, but the unreferenced materials (and the errors generated) should be removed from the article. @92.236.253.249: it looks like these errors are all resultant of edits you've made. Do you have a plan for cleaning things up? -- Mikeblas (talk) 14:23, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Nothing heard, so I've removed a couple of sections which were largely unreferenced. I managed to salvage a couple of other sections by removing undefined references and adding fact tags. -- Mikeblas (talk) 18:48, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
