price index

edit

I'm not quite sure where to initiate this discussion, but I think some of the pages for years should include a price listing — that is, tell what certain items cost in a given year. This would not need to be an exhaustive list by any means. Just list things like what you see in some of those gift books "by year" you see in gift shops, brief but useful. Such a list might include the price of a selected list of food items (e.g., milk, bread, eggs and a pound of hamburger), the average cost of a new car, a movie ticket, a new home, college tuition, a gallon of gasoline ... keep it brief but useful. I'm sure such a list could easily be researched and sourced reliably. Whatayathink? [[Briguy52748 (talk) 15:33, 3 March 2009 (UTC)]]Reply

Good idea, but hard to do with global perspective. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.9.15.2 (talk) 03:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Questioning of Importance of Page

edit
       This page clearly has its purpose, however, that purpose can be represented by other forms of Wikipedia media, such as the search bar. Why do we need a list of years when someone can just search the year, it type it in the URL? This page, in my opinion, is waste of time and space, and I think it should be classified as low-importance. This does not mean that it should be gotten rid of, it means that it should not be managed. If it is wasting editors' and administrators' time, then it should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EatEn (talkcontribs) 03:22, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

What century does 1995 fall in 72.252.198.79 (talk) 14:27, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@72.252.198.79 I'm very sure that falls in 20th century, doesn't it? 186.185.177.14 (talk) 22:17, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

2030+

edit

Do the years 2030-2099 need to be listed? None of them have their own article. Years in the 9th century BC aren't listed even though many of them have their own articles. William on Tires (talk) 18:31, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
