United States Martial Arts Association
editIts pretty well known that this organization sells recognition and is considered a joke in the main martial arts community. I'd remove reference to it.Peter Rehse 03:58, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- I would not agree with Peter Rehse. I dont know what is happening i States or in Canada but here in Balkans u need to work hard at least seven or eight years to gain black belt. But it is really interesting for me to hear that you consider it a joke. Please explain it more thorughly. Thank You.
- Mr Rehse was referring to the "United States Martial Arts Association". He was saying that the "United States Martial Arts Association" is not considered legitimate by most martial artists in the US. It is like a Diploma mill for the martial arts. Neutrality?
editMain article reads like a Black Belt Magazine advertisment. Who granted Vračarević dan ranks? In what branches of Aikido? When? How did he become 10th dan? Is his style recognized by anyone else but him? What are his ranks in Judo, JuJitsu and other martial arts referenced? What diploma did Goza Shioda give Vračarević?
Currently article reads like something written by a fan, not like a neutral autobiography. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.239.87.182 (talk) 01:53, 9 December 2006 (UTC).
I agree. A lot of information placed in this article reads like a Real Aikido advertisement. If this man is the founder of that art,did he really give *himself* the 10th dan? Also on the upper topic - visit bullshido and see what the view on the US MA Association is.Oganj 14:58, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
This whole article reads like a joke promotion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.250.17 (talk) 14:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
10th dan
editMorihiro Saito was 9th dan and even the instructors at Aikikai Hombu Dojo do not include any 10th dans, so I think it's highly unlikely that Ljubomir Vračarević is 10th dan. If he awarded himself 10th dan from his own organization, we need to write that. Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 08:28, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
- I just checked the citation, and the diploma looks like something given to a kindergarten student. We need to indicate somehow in the article that the "United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame" is not a recognized, mainstream organization like Black Belt Magazine or the Aikikai Foundation. Two removed sentences
editHis whole professional career was dedicated to Real Aikido – an original style of self defense - that he spent years perfecting.
- Sounds like advertisement.
Vračarević was one of the first aikido students in Europe ...
- No. Aikido was brought to Europe in 1951, when he was four years old.
Fake
editThis man's life doesn't match any of the biography guidelines in Wikipedia: his ranks are fake, unproven, all information are self published, and his organization is well known as a fake among Aikido practicioners. Good for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Champagne82 (talk • contribs) 09:35, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
