On "Release" Section, please add the following information below.

"On February 23rd, it was reported by numerous sources that the Theatrical Release of "Logan" in Mainland China will be shortened to 123 minutes, with 14 minutes of strong bloody violent sequences censored from the Original version, due to a lack of film rating system in Mainland China as of now." Alkali-Transigen ?

edit

I'm not a follower/fan of the X-men stuff, just came here as movie Logan appeared on TV and was curious. I find it surprising that none of you has created a wiki article with any info about Alkali-Transigen. Just saying. UnderEducatedGeezer (talk) 03:52, 10 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's probably because it's a MacGuffin. DonQuixote (talk) 05:04, 10 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
It's actually an antagonistic force, not a macguffin HaydenTCEM (talk) 14:30, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Logan and Charles

edit

I can't believe this needs to be said, but:

Logan is not Charles' son, can people (who probably won't read this talk page) please stop adding it? It was an on-the-fly improvisation by Logan to give a cover while dealing with the Munsons. Logan was born almost a century before Charles. -- Ambaryer (talk) 13:44, 17 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

GA

edit

Seeking any potential objections to this page being put up for GA nomination. Rusted AutoParts 04:35, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have been thinking of doing some work on the article, but I can't guarantee that I will get through it all in a timely manner so I wasn't wanting to ask anyone to wait on me doing that. - adamstom97 (talk) 05:09, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
In fact, I definitely have some problems with this article that I would like to address. If you could give me some time to work on it before it is re-nominated then that would be great. - adamstom97 (talk) 05:46, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Did you ever get round to sorting out the problems? If not let me know and I'll have a go, think we can get this to GA. Lankyant (talk) 13:51, 28 March 2023 (UTC) @Adamstom.97Reply
Sorry for the delay, I have responded at my talk page. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:53, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Top ten lists

edit

I think some editors may have mixed up Awards/Accolades with Top Ten lists, because the table includes end of year lists such as the Rotten Tomatoes Golden Tomato Awards. Ranked numbered lists such as Top Ten lists should be presented separately and not mixed in with other awards IMO. If someone is willing to start a proper subsection for top ten lists then Metacritic summary of Top ten lists is a good place to start.[1] -- 109.76.210.200 (talk) 17:06, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Update article position about box office rank of R-rated film

edit

Logan is 6th highest R-rated movie yet article mentions "it became 3rd highest grossing movie". Please update the articlemeowmeow \S-) (talk) 15:51, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

The peak position is the notable one, not the current position, because that will become lower and less relevant with time, while its original position will stay relevant. —El Millo (talk) 17:12, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Death of Wolverine" as an inspiration

edit

From Charles Soule's official "About the Author" section:

CHARLES SOULE is a New York Times bestselling, Brooklyn-based comic book writer, musician, and attorney. He is best known for writing Daredevil, She-Hulk, Death of Wolverine (inspiration for the film Logan), and various Star Wars comics from Marvel Comics, as well as his creator-owned series Curse Words from Image Comics and the award-winning political sci-fi epic Letter 44 from Oni Press. His debut novel, The Oracle Year, will be published in 2018 by HarperCollins.

@Grandpallama: That he is able to say this and put it in his bio would support including Death of Wolverine as an inspiration besides Old Man Logan. 94.237.76.31 (talk) 20:23, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This doesn’t confirm that the series was actually based on it. - adamstom97 (talk) 02:55, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Adamstom.97: Soule listing it in his bio though would say to me that someone at Marvel/Fox told him that it was, officially, for him to list it. 94.237.76.31 (talk) 10:20, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
The infobox is for credited individuals only, so neither Millar nor Soule belong there. And no, Soule's self-authored biography is not an independent reliable source. Please review WP:SELFSOURCE; any author can claim their work is the inspiration/source for anything (they don't need the permission of the studio to do that). Hell, Steve Englehart claims his work is the basis for every single Batman film since 1989, but that doesn't make it true. If Soule's work is so clearly an inspiration (and I'm not arguing that it's not), then there will be plenty of independent reliable sources stating such that can be provided (but again, not in the infobox). Reality Number?

edit

Should I add the designation of the universe that this film takes place in (Earth-17315), and if so where? HaydenTCEM (talk) 14:01, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Read MOS:REALWORLD and MOS:INUNIVERSE. DonQuixote (talk) 14:21, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
But shouldn't I mention that this film has been confirmed as taking place in a different universe/timeline from the other X-Men films by Marvel themselves? HaydenTCEM (talk) 14:32, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is a general encyclopaedia. What you're looking for is https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Marvel_Database DonQuixote (talk) 14:48, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I only bring this up to clear up confusion that the average reader might have regarding statements made by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman about Wolverine's return in Deadpool 3. HaydenTCEM (talk) 16:12, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
The average reader won't care--it's just a movie to them (see the Star Wars/Star Trek what's the difference joke). DonQuixote (talk) 16:15, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
