Rumor of found print

edit

Whether or not the rumor linked by Ain't it Cool News is true or a hoax, it is citable and was picked up by a legitimate news source. It is worth mentioning on the page -- maybe even moreso than the still uncited claim about the collector having a copy.--68.35.11.25 (talk) 02:38, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Surviving" 9 second film clip

edit

I removed the reference to a surviving 9 second film clip which then linked to a YouTube posting. On another YouTube post, it is made clear that the "surviving" clip is a hoax. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpoB-VOM1TI — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.155.101 (talkcontribs) 01:17, 30 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The 2009 hoax clip is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFk36pizlcM, with YouTube commenters seeming unimpressed and calling it out as a stop motion sequence made with a Sideshow Collectibles figure of the character. Someone tried to add it to Commons but it's up for deletion. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:14, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

"The Hypnotist"

edit

Does anyone know anything about this short story the film is based on, "The Hypnotist"? I can't seem to find any information about it except that the film is based on it. It would be an awfully strange coincidence if both the film and the short story were lost. Is it in print? BrokenEye3 (talk) 11:25, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

London After Midnight (film)London After Midnight – Current target is a dab with only two entries. This is the more common name, so move it and use {{for|the band|London After Midnight (band)}} at the top. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:29, 22 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Source missing for claim that the film has been found

edit

The page was recently updated to claim the film has been found as of June 2, 2022. No source for this is provided making the claim dubious. 73.158.29.217 (talk) 18:23, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Confusing statement…

edit

The article contains the words, “…exhumes Roger Balfour's tomb to find it empty.” I don’t think that this makes sense, as you don’t exhume a tomb, you exhume a body. One might “attempt to exhume (the body of) Roger Balfour, but find the tomb empty”, or “…open Roger Balfour’s tomb and find it empty”, but you certainly don’t have an exhumation if there isn’t a body. Antkind

edit

The novel Antkind by Charlie Kaufmann directly references this film in Chapter 77, and a lot of the plot bears a relation—-the protagonist is being hypnotized trying to recall a film that was destroyed in a fire. 70.108.19.121 (talk) 05:37, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
