Is this a suitable addition? Jackiespeel (talk) 19:14, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Northolt Station

edit

On the rail bridge opposite Northolt Station (by the crossing) is a LTE enamel sign, if someone can photograph it and add it here. Jackiespeel (talk) 20:32, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thryduulf, do you have this? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:25, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't. I can take a trip there and get one though, either this weekend or Tuesday I suspect. Thryduulf (talk) 00:02, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Can be seen on Google Street View - with your back to the station and 'just the other side of the traffic lights crossing.' Jackiespeel (talk) 19:37, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Could be combined with a visit to Greenford Station - the diagonal lift and the last surviving mainline Semaphore Signal in London. Jackiespeel (talk) 19:49, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Success. I don't know if I'll get a chance to upload the photo this evening, but if not it will be Tuesday. I did decide to visit Greenford as well as it's been a while since I was last there, but unfortunately the incline lift was out of service. Thryduulf (talk) 18:11, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not for the first time, either. IIRC they had problems on opening day. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:34, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is, I see, c:File:Greenford NNML signals.jpg - so possibly 'then and now' images/more pixels photo. (I am not a WP-train/Underground person: more London and 'obscure survivals', such as the sign being discussed.)
This sign is enamel, stencil printed, some damage (possibly from grit etc thrown up from the road) resulting in some rusting. Is the typeface used that of this body or the London Transport Executive (GLC)? Jackiespeel (talk) 11:23, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Jackiespeel: Hopefully one of these images is what you were looking for. Thryduulf (talk) 17:12, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Your choice. Jackiespeel (talk) 18:32, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't know where in the article you want to put the image or what you want it to illustrate so you are in a far better position to edit the article than I am. Thryduulf (talk) 21:00, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. Jackiespeel, you asked for the image, and it has been provided.   Thank you, Thryduulf. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:49, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The first one would be my preference - I haven't done any photo-placements on WP pages, and am a 'finder of relevant material.' Jackiespeel (talk) 11:20, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
