Tangents
editI think this bit:
- satirized along with that of Marlene Dietrich in the song Lieder by cult [[British]] trio Fascinating Aïda.
is a little too tangential...it has little to do with the subject of the article and belongs, if anywhere, in Fascinating Aida's article. One wouldn't expect a link from herpes to Fascinating Aida just because they've performed the Herpes Tango, would one? - Nunh-huh 21:57, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Her religion
editArticle says:
"As a child of working class Roman Catholic parents, Lenya wanted to be a dancer."
But later it says:
"With the rise of Nazism in Germany, Lenya, who was Jewish, left the country, having become estranged from Weill."
Please clarify...was Lotte Lenya a Catholic or a Jew?
her religion
editWeill was Jewish, she was probably raised catholic in Vienna. Did she convert? Conmacrijo 18:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)conmacrijo
- I don't think she did. She was from a poor family, and her going into show business was probably at least in part an escape from poverty and neglect. She became a bohemian artist and probably never looked back. That's the impression I get from Speak Low (When You Speak Love), a book of her letters to and from Weill, published by the Weill Foundation in the 1990s. Rousse (talk) 17:57, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- If she had even one Jewish grandparent, she would have been considered Jewish by the Nazis, regardless of what religion she practiced or was baptized into. +Angr 14:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
age of death
editYou've got to decide, if she lived from 1899 to 1981 she would have been 82. If she died at 83 then the date of birth or date of death isn't right.
Needs to be added to the infobox. Also, his article states he was a homosexual so whats the deal?--EchetusXe (talk) 23:20, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
