Danimations (talk · contribs) Firstly, I removed reference to the owners for two reasons; because it did not seem relevant and as they are alive and not celebrities/public people I should think it best to retain their privacy. Secondly, I'm not sure this meets the criteria of notability for articles. It is a very 'very' obscure island. However, if you are adamant on keeping it a few other things that may be of interest. Fisheries are just off the coast, tuna farms if I recall correctly. Louth Island was home to a population of fairy penguins. They have, unfortunately, since been eradicated by seagulls brought in by the fish farms (within the last 10 years). Also it is one of a few privately owned islands in Australia. I wouldn't put any of this in, however, if citations cannot be found. Good luck. Hollth (talk) 15:22, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Little penguin colony

edit

Thanks for your edits, User:Hollth and for your ideas for expanding the article. I've created a new section for the little penguin colony, substantiated with an old published observation and recent data. I was not previously aware that penguins inhabited Louth Island. I have previously established similar sections identifying where possible the status of colonies of Little Penguins around the state. As for the question of Louth Island's notability, as a gazetted geographical feature, referred clearly on regional maps, in newspapers etc. I can't very well see how it wouldn't qualify. I've spent a fair bit of time establishing pages for SA islands and have not had their notability questioned in the past. Danimations (talk) 03:45, 11 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
