Citations Needed and needed and needed and needed

Why are such citations needed over and over as in the "visiting" section? "There is a wide variety of Luckenbach-related shirts, bumper stickers and other novelties" Why is a citation needed for a fact? "There is a no swimming sign which is usually ignored" Citation needed? Why? All of these things should be OBVIOUS to anyone who's ever been there. Why does a book have to be written and cited to confirm the obvious? I think some of you Wikipedia snobs get a little over zealous on the citations needed. It's a fact that they sell T-Shirts, bumper stickers, and souvenirs. It's a fact that the sign is basically ignored, as people swim in the creek all the time. I can state this as fact because I lived there from '94-'98. You'll probably find that it isn't eorth the THREE copies of the book you would sell to write a book stating these common-sense items just so the Wiki-snobs can have an ISBN number to paste after each sentence. Copyvio

The original submission is a direct copy past of the first paragraph from the history section of www.luckenbachtexas.com The site carries no copyright notice and they'd probably appreciate the noteriety, but it should most likely be reworked on principle. Everything I wrote is based solely on testimony from many hung-over peers and classmates while attending college (especially the road trips and arrests part.) Confusing...

One paragraph claims that Waylon Jennings had never been to Luchenbach, TX and the next paragraph claims that he has. Perhaps he performed there later after making the comment?

In his 2000 book Are You Ready for the Country?, author Peter Doggett recalls that Jennings later told audiences that "he hated the song and (had) admitted 'The guys that wrote the thing have never been to Luckenbach. Neither have I.'"

The info box states that the population is 3. This is consistent with the figure given for whent he town was advertised for sale, but, considering what the rest of the article says, it seems probable that the town has grown since then (http://everything2.com/title/Luckenbach%252C+Texas: 25 people). On the l=other hand, maybe all the people wroking in the town live else-where, since this (http://www.texasescapes.com/FEATURES/Home_town/Luckenbach/Luckenbach.htm) site says there were only 2 residents in 2010. OR / NPOV issues with Country Music section.

Country Music section contains paragraphs of editorializing with no citations.

Stonewall? Unincorporated or Ghost Town?

Why is the climate for "Stonewall"? There is no other mention on the page for Stonewall. Luckenbach was listed on both List of ghost towns in Texas and List of unincorporated communities in Texas. It was listed on the former but recently removed because, "it's not a ghost town and never was. It was still operating a school system in 1967. For more than the last half century, Luckenbach has been privately owned, operated as a for-profit tourist attraction. This is no more a ghost town than Disneyland or Branson, Missouri" (from the Texas Ghosttown talk page). On the latter, the list for unincorporated communities, it has a broken link to "Luckenbach Stonewall". Makes me think there is something to this "Stonewall" thing. In any case, hoping to figure it out and so the link can be changed to the appropriate name and list.Katrazyna (talk) 01:05, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
