Games aren't required to follow the theme
editThe lede of the article says "Participants are required to create a video game that fits within a given theme in two or three days". Perhaps I'm being pedantic but it seems to say that participants must follow the theme, but that's actually incorrect, the theme is just a starting point. From the rules: "you are not required to use the Theme. We will not disqualify you for disregarding it. To us, the Theme is just a single voting category." The problem is that this sentence has two references (PC Gamer and WIRED) both of which say the exact same thing ("The games are all based on a theme" and "the game has to be about the current competition's theme" respectively).
