It's cool that the Will & Grace part was mentioned. Please note that this part may also be indicative of Culkin's sexual preference. While the role that he played was not... homosexual, the series is gay every episode. 66.41.212.243 12:03, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Investigation proved that Culkin wasn't a drug addict, and he received a suspended sentence. turns out he's a woman.

How can an investigation prove such a thing? You kidding me right, plus it was not only mary j. and zanax that they found in his staff...

The article says he started his career in the early 90's, but Uncle Buck came out in 1989 and was his first big gig, although not the lead character.

mug shot

I removed his mug shot photo, because it isn't a flattering picture of him. He's an actor first and, I'm sure, there are better photos of him out there. TripleH1976 Mon 23:51, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

As a note, so long as there is a free use image out there, no matter how unflattering, (the mug shot) there's no real acceptable rationale for putting fair use images up. Having no images is a fair compromise, but I'll return the favour and remove any fair use images placed in the article. GeeJo (t)(c) • 17:52, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I don't see why this is the case. Surely a photo of a subject is not a priori interchangable with any other photo of the same subject. As noted, the intent may be to illustrate Culkin as a movie actor, for which a mug shot is not appropriate. Moreover, this is not common practice on Wikipedia; many celebrities have mugshots, however most articles use a publicity photo. Also note that a mugshot is not necessarily free (public domain); its status is disputed [1]. I don't see your reasoning here. --TeaDrinker 02:30, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

"At the height of his fame"

I reverted an edit twice inserting the caption "Macaulay Culkin at the height of his fame, 1991." on the picture as pov. The original text read "Macaulay Culkin, 1991." I think the former is not supported by the text or references, and constitutes a novel synthesis per WP:OR. While it is true that his best known movies were from this time frame, it is not clear that this is what is intended by "fame." If the intent is to note that this is not a modern photo of him, there is probably a better way of saying it (since his being washed up, as the caption seems to imply, is really an opinion). --TeaDrinker 18:46, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Michael Jackson Sex Scandal

Shouldn't this article mention how Michael Jackson slept in the same bed as Mr. Culkin when the during the time he allegedly molested children?--216.164.61.173 (talk) 15:45, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

You'll need a very reliable source for that because both the people you mention are currently living people. Graham87 06:08, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

--I know this is an old post, but whether the person's are living or not, is irrelevant... you would still need a verifiable source, irregardless.

Well, the testimony was in open court, so it's well-documented--here, for instance. That doesn't necessarily mean it should belong in the article; I was just raising the issue.--216.164.61.173 (talk) 03:06, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Ah I've found that it's already well-covered at People v. Jackson and probably doesn't need to be mentioned in detail here. Graham87 03:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Notable roles

We need to decide what is and isn't a notable role for Culkin. I have issue with some that are included and wonder why some are excluded. For instance, is the sequel to Home Alone really all that notable? And why isn't Party Monster added? -- it was his return to acting. -FateSmiled&DestinyLaughed 13:59, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Upon further inspection, I'd put forward that, of those listed, only Home Alone is notable. -FateSmiled&DestinyLaughed 14:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
If "Party Monster" is listed, why is "Saved!" not listed? I know more people that know of his work in Saved! than Party Monster, and Saved! had a wider release. --DisneyFreak96 00:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
What do you define as a notable role? He starred in Home Alone 2, and, as I recall, it did fairly well. So how is it not a notable role? If you think the list is missing an important role, feel free to be bold and add it, but I would hesitate before removing films from the list.--Agent Aquamarine 13:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

notability with actors is a bit speculative, but here a few things to consider:

  • Did the actor play a major role in the film? [A supporting cast actor is a major role...]
  • Did the film aid the actor to further his/her career?
  • Is the film listed as an important film in a verifiable film related source? And if so, does it mention the actor?
  • Was the actor nominated or recognized for the film in a major awards ceremony?
  • Did the actor have a speaking part? [Even if they didn't, it could still be notable...]
  • Did the actor have high degrees of national or international appeal because of said film?

Its not necessary however to reveal every notable role an actor played in, because when all else fails, the film in which the actor starred in can be listed in the actors filmography. Hope that helps. Wolfpeaceful (talk) 17:41, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Years Active

Do you think it is necessary to have his "Years Active" listed in 2 separate timeframes since he was still "active" from 1994-2003 he just wasn't in any films, but he did have interviews and other things. Most other actors who took a break from acting still only have one timeframe for being active (covering their entire carer) unless maybe if they went into complete seclusion in the time between which was not the case with Culkin.

So I think that Years Active should be 1985-Present. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.40.217 (talk) 17:33, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Early Life

Why is there no "early life" section on the discussion page? In the section Early Life, it says that he was born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, then contradicts that assertion by saying that he lived in Yorkville. Yorkville is a neighborhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan bounded by approximately 72nd and 96th Streets and Lexington and York Avenues--although some consider Yorkvilled to be only 86th street and south. His father worked as a sacristan for St. Joseph Church on East 87th Street, the children went to school there, and the family lived in the neighborhood. I think the entry needs to be changed to Upper East Side. When he was married he bought an apartment on the Lower East Side--possibly that is where the confusion comes from. I have included the fact that Macaulay and Mila Kunis had to leave Israel in 2006. It was listed here on Wikipedia at the time it happened and sources for it can currently be found on google news (if you sift through all the recent articles). Also, I have included the idea of him being gay. If anyone believes this is purely hearsay, search for Macaulay Culkin on the Yahoo search engine, the first option you read is 'Macaulay Culkin gay', so then click on that and explore the basis for reports that he is gay. Whoever said my information was not properly sourced should definately check out the above sites.

The idea that he is gay can be directly attributed to him starring in 'Party Monster'. Michael Alig, the character he played, is a homosexual and the film is filled with homosexual references. --Endlessdan 18:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Old post, but replying anyway: simply because he acted as a homosexual, does not mean that he is homosexual... and technically the character he played in Party Monster was bisexual, with asexual preferences... but it doesn't matter, because he was acting. Wolfpeaceful (talk) 17:50, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Partner

At what point is it appropriate to remove Mila Kunis as Macaulay's partner? In my opinion it makes sense to list her while they were currently dating. A permanent listing as his "partner" would be unusual compared to other biography pages. I attempted to edit this to the person he was currently dating and my change was reverted. A message from old friends

Hi!, Macaulay you shall read this: Ezekiel Chapter 33

This might interest to you:

Ezekiel Chapter 33:12-15, The message of The Sentinel
Son of man, say to the members of your nation, "The uprightness of an upright person will not save him once he takes to wrong-doing; the wickedness of a wicked person will not ruin him once he renounces his wickedness. No one upright will be able to live on the strength of uprightness, having once taken to sinning. If I say to someone upright: You are to live, and then, trusting in this uprightness, he does wrong, none of the uprightness will be remembered; because of the wrong-doing, he will die. If, however, I say to someone wicked: You are to die, and he turns back from sin and does what is lawful and upright, if he returns pledges, restores what he has stolen, keeps the laws that give life and no longer does wrong, he will live and will not die...
Word of God. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The.sentinel (talkcontribs) 04:52, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Adding his podcast

I'm trying to add information on his podcast but I haven't edited anything in years and can't remember how to do anything. Could someone with more skill help me out here? I was looking at another podcast page for help but it didn't quite turn out right

{{Infobox podcast | title = ''Bunny Ears Podcast'' | genre = Comedy, entertainment, talk | status = Weekly | language = English | opentheme = "Bunny Ranch" by [[Adam Green (musician)]] | website = [https://bunnyears.com/category/podcasts/ ''Bunny Ears''] }}

The podcast has been out for over a year and seems like a notable venture of his.

Full disclosure I am a big fan of Bunny Ears, so I hope that doesn't violate any rules or anything. I have nothing to do with the production or distribution or anything.

Thank you! Bakudai (talk) 01:54, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Name change:

He says he plans to change it, but there's no indication he has actually done so yet. And the whole thing could be a prank or stunt to get attention that he then doesn't follow through on. So wait for the time being. Harizotoh9 (talk) 18:05, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Exactly. The article is protected, again. Please don't make edit requests for a change of his name unless you can provide a rreliable source showing that the change has actually happened. Meters (talk) 21:33, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

The name change is still not done. See https://www.insider.com/vote-macaulay-culkin-changing-his-middle-name-2018-11 . The middle name should be reverted back. BaruMonkey (talk) 13:44, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

User:BaruMonkey, I updated the article with this source. The opening line lists his birth name, and there's a paragraph down in personal life that covers his intention to legally change it. —Aᴋʀᴀʙʙıᴍ talk 15:10, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

As per the contents of this article, Macaulay Culkin's middle name is no longer 'Carson' 162.202.10.28 (talk) 01:49, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Not done - The article states that he announced he would change his middle name, not that he did. You may reopen your request if you cite a reliable source in Wiki format stating that he followed through with the change. Note that this was already proposed in the above section. — Tartan357 (Talk) 03:52, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

He changed his middle name to "Macaulay Culkin" in 2018. See the citation [1]. It's been widely reported. For whatever reason though people insist on reverting edits to his name, despite the citation being clearly visible. 209.52.88.76 (talk) 22:19, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

He didn't change his name in 2018. That's when he decided he was going to change it. As of February 2020 he had still not legally changed it. It has been legally changed now though. Halcyon grun Sproutz (talk) 23:51, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Macaulay Culkin's name needs to be reverted to "Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin" as this is his legal name. See the first two citations on the article. Any attempts to change his name back to anything else should be considered vandalism. Infernex94 (talk) 16:31, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

I have seen above and the talk page shows that he has, indeed, legally changed his name as of 2020. There are also citations currently within the article showing the same. – Infernex94 (talk) 19:53, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Not confirmed. I find *NO* confirmation his name was actually changed. (Newsweek might be a "reliable" source, but that's BS because they do *NOT* fact-check every details as much as needed… they didn't even link Mack's tweet where he said that _the process takes longer than he expected_). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macaulay_Culkin

In the “Personal Life” section at the end of the first paragraph, there is some unnecessary profanity.

The sentence is currently as follows:

In 2018, Culkin denied this, saying he had instead removed his parents' name from his trust fund and found an executor, "just in case anyone wanted to stick their fucking pinkie in the pie".

To be more encyclopedic, the profane quote could be omitted with no loss of information.
