"Labeling or categorizing BLP subjects as TERFs or trans-exclusionary radical feminists"

edit

Berns died 4 days after the above-referenced RfC was closed on 9 September 2019 with the following consensus:

...we should generally provide in text attribution when using the term "TERF" in BLP.

Nevertheless, it's worth noting. Pyxis Solitary (yak) 08:41, 28 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Article Description

edit

While I am satisfied with the middle ground description, it should be noted that a comparable figure, the article for Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, is "British anti-transgender rights activist". So, it would seem that "anti-transgender" is in use on Wikipedia. on the other hand, another comparable figure Fred Phelps, had the description "American preacher and activist". Since there is disagreement on what kind of campaigner Berns was, an appropriate middle ground would be "YouTuber and Campaigner", and let the article describe what kind of campaigner she was. •forivall•ircL and Q 06:04, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

On the one hand it seems quite perverse that the short description leaves out what she was actually notable for (It's certainly not for having <43K subscribers on YouTube!) but it is probably not worth getting into a big debate about including "anti-trans" or equivalent wording, even though I would support that, as that would almost certainly get bogged down and get us nowhere. "YouTuber and campaigner" should be OK. I can't see how anybody could object to that so I've put that in. --DanielRigal (talk) 13:01, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
