Fair use rationale for Image:1majida debut.jpg

edit

Image:1majida debut.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 23:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Most successful..."

edit

Since her appearance on television at the age of 16, she has become one of the most successful singers of the Arab world... Maybe we had better change this to one of the most successful female singers...? Because one of the most successful singers ever is Amr Diab, and I think she has never entered his sales zone. :) -andy 77.190.20.199 (talk) 18:06, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Advocacy for Majida?

edit

User:Hullaballoo Wolfowitz reverted twice [1] [2] and labeled the edit, primary sourced and contentious, which makes me wonder whether he really checked the sources or is just a fan of hers!

I added the original video and the MEMRI article including its clip translating the inciting parts of her speech. Majida actually said that she believes in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a book that has been used to incite hatred, murder against Jews in the Middle East, Russia and Germany. MEMRI only reported it this year, while the video was older.

It is important to leave the edit as to show that MEMRI only noticed the video recently and acknowledge that she actually said what she said, rather than looking like a handpicked piece for only the positive aspects of her, painting an angelic personality (like Asma al-Assad on Vogue).

No one objects including edits to make the article more neutral. I even didn't touch the rest of it. It was only Hullaballoo who didn't like it, based on assumptions about me, despite including all the needed citation to dispel any accusations. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 21:15, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Neutral point of view (NPOV)
  • Verifiability (V)
  • No original research (NOR)
Which of these were violated by me? I won't repeat myself again, but the article right now is biased. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 10:19, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
NPOV, specifically UNDUE, get a source better than MEMRI and maybe you have a point. nableezy - 15:37, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Historical Accuracy

edit

Article mentions Majda al-Roumi performing for both Laila Mourad and Asmahan. While I can't contest Laila Mourad, Asmahan passed away before the birth of Majda al-Roumi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sejongfan2000 (talkcontribs) 03:48, 4 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
