A small village in Mansfield, Clipstone, now has a parish. Lauraocal (talk) 09:55, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

A bit 'late in the day' but Clipstone is in Newark and Sherwood District Council, not Mansfield--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 14:48, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Unreliable source?

edit

When updating the defection of three councillors (Answer, Barton and Wright) to Reform UK, I have avoided using this local 'paper link as a source as it asserts there were only three extant MIF (Mansfield Independent Forum, latterly known as Mansfield Independents) members: "The party's influence has waned more recently, with just three Mansfield Independent councillors left on the district council following the last local elections...All those three have now announced that they have joined Reform UK."

There were four (as annotated on this Sept 2024 revision). The Nottingham Post press source does not mention the fourth councillor from the 2023 elections.

I have checked his 2023 election result, showing he stood as "MI", and one of his Facebook presences which states Mansfield Independant [sic], twice, but his Mansfield District council official webpage states "Independent". On another Facebook presence, he stated (a day ago) "Before we all get carried away with Reform let me put all in the picture of what I am finding....So people do not join Reform until it gets its act together and make rules before the anonymous entities use them in this high handed fashion.Councillor Sid Walker ,Independent and proud to be British."

I will get back to further research on this when I can.-- 82.13.47.210 (talk) 14:12, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
