Continuous Addition of False Information from Unreliable Sources

It is really sad that people are editing information about my life based on sources that are not credible. I live a low profile life, and I know that someone is doing this to malign my reputation. My married name is Manya Vikas Bajpai. I used to go by "Manya" in my films. Maannyah Patel was my legal name. I also use Naidu at times as I come from a Naidu family. It is ironical that my own information about my life does not seem to hold any credit! I will not be putting a copy of my birth certificate, my marriage certificate and my college diploma on the internet to prove my point as such personal information can be misused. My birthday is not October 7, 1982! The source that cites this is NOT credible as my own mother knows my birth date better than some baseless source. And neither did she nor my birth certificate tell me that I was born on Oct 7th. It can be proven that the sources are not credible as the sources that cite my birth date have conflicting information. One article says that "I am married to Satya Patel and I am settled in Chicago." I have never lived in Chicago and I hold a New York State ID for the past 7 years. The other article says that I "started my career in Kannada films," whereas my debut film was Sitaramaraju in Telugu not Kannada. All the sources that are cited have conflicting and false information. This is a kind of chilling terrorism over one's privacy. Some editors seem to be really interested in adding my false date of birth and Mr. Satya Patel's name. The article they cite mention that "Manya to wed Satya Patel," wherein in reality the marriage "may" have been cancelled, "may" have been annulled or many different things "may" have happened. Also, pictures can be morphed. And how can some editor mention that I "may" have got divorced without having any so-called "credible" sources at all? I "may" have also been widowed? The truth is that I am married to Vikas Bajpai since July 22nd 2013.

And again, even the information derived from the BMCC article is wrong. According to this article, I am married to an American but Satya Patel is an Indian name. Even if he was American, the correct way to put it would be "South Asian-American." Also, I have not graduated from BMCC, I only took a few math classes there for which I earned a scholarship. I graduated from Columbia University with a major in Mathematics-Statistics in 2013. As the article cites, I do NOT have an MBA. I only have a Bachelors degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. Also, my legal name before marrying Vikas Bajpai was Maannyah Patel, not Manya Patel as the article cites. It is sad that people publish articles without re-confirming the information.

Going forth, this will be my last attempt to appeal to all the editors to please stop adding false information about my personal life. I am sure they have certain incidents in their lives that is too personal to share too. Even though we work in films, there are still certain personal things that affect our families the same way it affects everyone else. I have more important things to do in my life than to keep correcting false and baseless information about me. Again, it is sad that journalists publish articles without re-confirming the facts. Henceforth, I will not attempt to correct/clarify any information. Continuous content removal

An editor is indulged in the continuous removal of sourced content, about her personal life, from the article, without explanation. Manya married Satya Patel on May 31, 2008. Her marriage news and photos all over the internet. The editor continuously changes her spouse name to Vikas Bajpai without providing any source. And also removing her birth date which from a reliable source.

At User talk:Jab843#Manya (actress), Manyabjp said that her date of birth and the information about her father are wrong. I have restored the rest of the content, commenting out the disputed parts. Both cited what I'd usually considere (more or less) reliable sources: Kerala9 for the date of birth (of rather disputable reliability) and a quote by herself in her college newspaper. Unless we assume that the BMCC manufactures quotes about peoples' parents, I don't see how Ms Patel has anybody but herself to blame for the public availability of that piece of information. I am quite surprised by Mike V's removal of Manya's marriage. Maybe one needs a LinkedIn access to see where that primary sources says she didn't marry Satya Patel in 2008; there are multiple reliable sources saying she did. In fact, the sources removing his wholesale removal of sources are still Manya to wed Satya Patel and a 2011 article by her community college that refers to her as "Manya Patel". If there's one indisputable fact about Manya, one fact all third-party sources agree on, it's her marriage to Mr. Patel. That marriage may by now have ended in divorce, and I wouldn't mind adding some neutral information on that based on primary sources, but that's no reason to remove the marriage altogether. On a related note, Mike V removed the disputed source for the birthdate with an edit summary of "The source that was used is giving a 404." All I can say to that is: Not for me.

If we were to agree that all sources that discuss her marriage to Satya Patel are inherently unreliable, and that the community college report is (and Manya has disputed quotes in that report), then we'd have to conclude that no reliable third-party sources about her exist and that this article, which currently largely reads like a puff piece, should be deleted. At the time that I accessed the website, it was giving me a 404 error. This issue has been resolved, so I re-added the content as it was prior. Per her LinkedIn profile, it appears that she is not currently married to Satya Patel, so I removed it from her page. I wouldn't be opposed to making a neutral statement along the lines of, "As of [date], she was married to Satya Patel." This might be a nice compromise that satisfies both sources. I've removed her marriage again. It is irrelevant to her career and if we cannot prove it is currently correct it should not be there. Black Kite (talk) 13:54, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
