Bad Shape
editThis article is in bad shape. I'll see what I can do about cleaning it up.Wuapinmon (talk) 19:03, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Two years later and it's still in bad shape. This seems more than a little biased. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.81.240.10 (talk) 10:01, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
Biased and possibly inaccurate
editSeems very biased against Ms Kodama. The reference http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/07/12/1057783281684.html which is quoted in the text says Di Giovanni helped Borges get a divorce ("di Giovanni was to later engineer a trip to Cordoba to facilitate Borges's divorce from his first wife, Elsa Astete Millan"). Yet the text casts doubts on the legality of the marriage of Borges to Kodama, because he supposedly did not divorce Millan. Sardath (talk) 00:21, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Improved
editI've made what I think are some improvements towards greater clarity and less bias and added a useful source. There was a footnote in the article, saying The Spanish-language Wikipedia, at http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar%C3%ADa_Kodama, notes, "Según Alejandro Vaccaro, presidente de la Sociedad Argentina de Escritores (SADE) y biógrafo de Jorge Luis Borges, 'El casamiento de Borges y Kodama es nulo porque él no se podía volver a casar: ya estaba casado desde 1967 con Elsa Estete Millán, de quien se había separado en 1970 sin divorcio, porque no existía' (en esas fechas en Argentina)" ("According to Alejandro Vaccaro, president of the Argentine Society of Writers (SADE) and biographer of Jorge Luis Borges, 'The marriage of Borges and Kodama is void ab initio because he could not marry again: he was already married, from 1967, to Elsa Estete Millán, from whom he had separated in 1970 without divorce, because it did not exist (at that time in Argentina)"). I removed it because the Wikipedia cannot refer to itself, as it changes all the time. Morever this statement is in fact no longer part of the Spanish article on Kodama. Finally the argument expressed in the statement even if valid, which may or may not be true, is not very relevant because Kodama's ownership of the Borges estate is also based on two wills written six years apart. Besides there doesn't seem to be any record of a sucessful legal challenege of the Borges-Kodama marriage. That would be worth mentioning but it doesn't seem to exist.Sardath (talk) 03:56, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Dying without a will
editWhat of her dying without a will?
See, for instance: Barcella, Laura (2023-04-06). "Legacy of Late Argentinian Author Jorge Luis Borges Is Unclear After Wife Fails to Leave a Will". Peoplemag. Retrieved 2024-02-27.
Needs some addition. TuckerResearch (talk) 16:51, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
