Notability
editThis article was created yesterday. Do the sources justify a fork from existing article 2017 Women's March#Follow-up ? In ictu oculi (talk) 08:40, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
Yes, the sources justify a fork from the existing article as it is a separate organization that has been well covered by reputable sources. The article 2017 Women's March#Follow-up refers only to the actual event & the direct follow up. Since the 2017 Women's March this organization has been covered separately from that event to a significant degree as well as mentioned by various public figures making it notable by definition in the activist world. Other organizations similar in scope and size have their own articles. This is also an organization founded by the cofounder of the 2017 Women's March, which makes it notable unto itself. - @Kateascher: notability can't be inherited. The actual march may be notable but additional source is needed to establish the standalone notability of the March On organisation. Matthew_hk tc 01:10, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
Added additional sources to establish notability. Please review existing sources as there are more than enough independent sources to establish notability already. Kateascher (talk) 17:00, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
Requested move 2 October 2018
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Withdrawn by nominator. The page was moved by CambridgeBayWeather to a new name of March On (organization) when the discussion was still in progress, however, there were no editors who requested this move be reversed. Thus this requested move discussion supports the move by CambridgeBayWeather, so a new requested move should be opened to move back to the old name. MarchOn → March On – Organization's name is two words, not one put together. Unable to change due to disambiguation page that does not seem to be needed as it references a relatively unknown song that does not actually have a article. Kateascher (talk) 00:01, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Sam Sailor 01:08, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

, then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
- Oppose, not sure it is the primary topic or not, and march on is a common phase. Matthew_hk tc 00:18, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, move instead to March On (organization), but please review notability. Cannot understand why this group if notable is not mentioned in 2018 Women's March. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:40, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Comment Somehow I managed to not see the move tag on the page and already moved it to March On (organization). CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 17:10, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Comment March On (organization), works perfectly as a title. I request that this discussion be finished. [[[User:Kateascher|Kateascher]] (talk) 19:08, 2 October 2018 (UTC)]
