Move back to Margo Dydek?
editShould this be moved back to Margo Dydek? I don't think that most English speaking people who know about Dydek refer to her by her full name. --Jtalledo (talk) 16:33, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
"Only" 213 cm, actually
editNote that on the international circuit (most notably in Poland) her height is consistently listed at 213 cm (7 ft). Check out E-BASKET for example; this was also the height she was listed at the Sydney Olympics of 2000, and it's the one used by the Polish edition of Wikipedia. 213 cm is still enough to make her the tallest female athlete of all time, ahead the likes of Gwen Bachman (211 cm/6 ft 11 in) Iuliana Semenova (210 cm/6 ft 10½ in). The 218 cm (7 ft 2 in) WNBA listing is by far the minority claim – not the other way round – and yet WNBA is likely the most cited source on the matter. Depends on whether your source is in English or not, I suppose. I once heard that she was measured 7 ft by the WNBA, but they said "You're 7 ft 2 in with shoes on to the top of your hair", and went with that; however, I don't know if there's any truth in this. --Anshelm '77 21:01, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Why the Guinness reference?
editIsn't the WNBA well-enough established to call her blocks record simply the "WNBA record?" You wouldn't see Barry Bonds possessing the Guinness Book of World Records record for the most MLB home runs.MichaelProcton (talk) 05:04, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
