Removal of background information

I removed the following line: "His father, a judge, committed suicide after being accused of corruption and battling a gambling addiction [1]." This current piece of imformation, as the page is currently formated, fits awkwardly in the section. If more background information is found, this sentence should be added.

Controversial Policies

Hey! I cited the very articles of legislation that were not only partisan but seriously misguided. I provided links to the State website which clearly states the facts included in the proposed legislation, not to mention copies of the bills themselves. What is up with the censor? From the note that was sent me I only did what was encouraged by wiki policy (unless it is clearly the point of view of a non-liberal on wikipedia as has been so clearly demonstrated in this act of removal) I did not make those additions lightly, and they took me a fair amount of time to source. AB 2235 is over the top was critiqued by the NRA-ILA and I referenced that and AB 1617 was unconstitutional and VETOED by the governor, thats a pretty damn powerful critique which was referenced. My careful critique and facts were erased and I am not happy about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skipingrock (talkcontribs) 20:26, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

"Vandalism" by Wikipedia Users: DeSaulnier's Republican Party Membership and Activities in 1990s

This article was the target of vandals in recent days in August 2009. California Governor Pete Wilson was a Republican. Mark DeSaulnier was a member of the Republican party when Governor Wilson appointed DeSaulnier to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in 1994. These are truthful statements. Mr. DeSaulnier is now running for the Democratic party's nomination for a seat in the U.S. Congress. Mr. DeSaulnier's past membership in the Republican party is relevant to any Wikipedia article discussing his political career. Removal of these truthful statements without any explanation constitutes "vandalism."

In addition, vandals continue to target the section of the article discussing Mr. DeSaulnier's $200.00 donation to the Contra Costa County Republican Party in 1998, just before the November 1998 general election. Mr. DeSaulnier's donation supported the gubernatorial campaign of Republican Dan Lungren. This claim is carefully documented with a link to the relevant page of the relevant report on the Federal Election Commission website. The link provided in the footnote clearly shows that same Mark DeSaulnier now running for Congress made this political contribution. In August 2009, Mr. DeSaulnier issued a television commercial and two mailers critical of Mr. Lungren. Therefore, Mr. DeSaulnier's past financial support of Mr. Lungren is relevant to this Wikipedia article about Mr. DeSaulnier's political career. Removal of these truthful statements without any explanation constitutes "vandalism." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gdb09 (talkcontribs) 08:15, 19 August 2009 (UTC) --Gdb09 (talk) 19:07, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
