Proposed merge and redirect per AfD discussion
editI propose that this article be merged and redirected to United States Senate election in Tennessee, 2012.
According to the closing administrator at the AfD discussion, "The result was no consensus to delete this material. There is substantial and well-argued support for a merge, and indeed there is very nearly a consensus for it, but I don't think we're quite there. Discussion about the possible merge can continue on the article's talk page until consensus about it is reached. What this AfD has found is that this article title should not become a redlink." The target page already contains information about Mr. Clayton, his winning of the primary, and the reaction of the Democratic party to his nomination, so IMO the article has already been "merged". All that remains is to carry out the redirect. I plan to do that one week from today unless discussion here is opposed. --MelanieN (talk) 23:21, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, merger and redirection (not merely redirection) to United States Senate election in Tennessee, 2012 is the appropriate disposition for this article. Redirection alone is not appropriate, IMO, as the Democratic primary and the subsequent turmoil is only minimally covered in the target article right now. More content should be added to that article. --Orlady (talk) 00:20, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- I am modifying my suggestion to say "merge and redirect". There is already information at the proposed target article, but there could be more. Anyone is welcome to transfer salvageable/sourced material to that article. --MelanieN (talk) 02:15, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have added some additional information to the election article. --MelanieN (talk) 17:43, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- Agree to the merge and redirect proposal. Looking forward to that happening later today. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:32, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
